Yes, so what we are saying is that the poor running could just be that you need to give it more time to warm up before you ride off!!! Mine starts pretty much first time too, but if I were to do what you do my YBR would probably behave in the same way as yours does!!!!
  2. Not a lot, as Rennie is working and sleeping!!

When you say 'a couple of minutes' how long exactly - 2 mins, 5 mins??? I've got a YBR & to start it I have to open the choke fully & start it without touching the throttle. Have to leave it like that for probably 3/4 mins then gradually shut off the choke a bit at a time - still NOT touching the throttle. Once it's ticking over with no choke I can then try revving it gently - if I twist the throttle sharply it'll probably cut out! In all, it probably takes a good 8-10 mins to be fully warmed up & ready to go!!
  4. Thinking I'll keep things the way they are this time - can't see any way of making changes to improve my team really!
  5. Referring to one of your original questions, I have used Richa textiles and have Richa leathers (separates) and the quality has been fine. Obviously these aren't boots ( ) so can't comment on those, but Richa is a pretty well-known brand and IME good quality.
  6. I think he peaked a while back he's been dissapointing recently. ...yeah when I added him to my team!!!!
  7. From what I've been taught yes, both scenarios you have described sound the way to go. I was told that, same as in a car, you choose the most appropriate gear for the speed and conditions, and as long as you can demonstrate good control and awareness/reaction to what is happening on the road then that's right. Of course examiner's opinions do tend to vary! You can be failed for being over-hesitant!
  8. Yes I've made some changes too - got rid of Biaggi thank goodness. I knew there was a reason I've never really liked him!!! Giuliano is a good punt for some points Martin - I've had him in my team since the start & he's bagged me a good few points. Seems to improve with every race!!
  9. When you've had occasion to put it to the test Al, don't forget to do a write-up in the Tried & Tested But then again, if it's Hein Gericke own make and they're closing down no-one else will be able to buy one!!
  10. Some makes of jackets will fit other makes of trousers but some won't!! (Not helpful is it??!!) However most manufacturers give you the other side of the zip as well, if you know what I mean. So should you have to choose different manufacturers to get the right fit, you can have the matching zip put in by someone who does alterations. I would also recommend buying some waterproof over trousers and maybe over top. Not all textiles that claim to be waterproof actually are, as I recently learnt!! Trousers are usually more affected as the water runs off the tank into your lap! You don't want to arrive at work with a damp crotch!!!
  11. You're welcome - that's what we're here for Thing is, I could be a size 12 (I wish! ) and so could you, yet completely different shapes. Ladies bike gear tends not to take this into consideration Manufacturers are getting a bit more wise to the fact that us ladies DO ride bikes & not just pillion, but there still isn't a great choice of stuff around!
  12. I find sizing is completely random!! You can try one size of one make of clothing & would need a completely different size in another make. I'm pretty sure that I've never managed to find bike clothing that fits that is the same size as my normal clothes size! Try stuff on it the shops, find a brand that fits you well then look online for that make/size & hopefully you'll find it cheaper.
  13. Yeah i could, but for the sake of 12 quid, can I be bothered? Its Oxford's loss, not mine as I certainly wont be relaying on their reputation again. They've clearly dropped their standards, and seem to have forgotten entirely about quality control! Maybe i'll post them a link to this thread and give them the chance to explain.. lets see if they can be bothered to respond.. That's a shame, not bothering to at least draw their attention to it. If more people expressed their dissatisfacion then perhaps companies couldn't get away with selling products that aren't up to the job, so to speak. Ok, you might not be bothered about them making it up to you, but if it stops them selling poor quality products surely that's good?
  14. Ah right, ok. I know he's away atm - has been since the Rally. Maybe when he gets home he'll post them on here. If he doesn't I'll ask him to.
  15. Exactly! i was planning to add a few other bits and bobs, and sling it under my seat for emergency use only only. Big let down from Oxford's on the quality front.. basically paid 12 quid for a tool pouch. Why not get in touch with Oxford and express your disappointment? I would if I were you! "You expected quality product because of the 'name' and it doesn't live up to your expectations etc - will think twice about buying their stuff again and recommending it to others...." Never know, they might make it up to you!
  16. On yer bike Dave!!!!!
  17. Aaww bugger - thought I might've sneaked back past Rennie after this weekend!!!
  18. Spanky's photo's are on his FB - had a look at them earlier
  19. Bit late posting these up.... Cat & Fiddle Fishpond Matlock Miner's Standard
  20. Very disappointed that Max let me down!! And definitely got rid of wrong BSB rider!
  21. Mandy I'm pretty sure they were one of the ones I phoned last year (amongst many! ) and they wouldn't let us have our own drinks.
  22. MFN is ok Cat - we went there 4 years ago but there were several reasons why it wasn't really right for our Rally.
  23. Yes. But the Miner's Standard was actually really cheap if you wanted it to be. Only £10 each to camp, no cost for function room - people could cook their own food & drink their own drink if they wanted to. Even if it cost another £15 per head on top of the camping cost, £25 is really quite cheap for a weekend away!
  24. That looks really good Stu!!!!! Has just about everything we need - wonder how much though Ian says Ripley is near MFN
