  1. went to halfords today, all i bought was a cow keyring (lights up and moooos) for by daughter.. got it home and it stopped working, so ive had to perform surgery... Bikermoo will be traumatised....
  2. Simple.. Hire a really sexy cleaner to come over and do the housework... Women are competitive so she will very quickly feel the need to out clean the cleaner
  3. Mine lived a great life! Would never have known he had FIV. He even came outside with us and bathed in the sunshine. He was a very happy cat. We wanted a cat but lived in a flat so wouldn't have been fair to have a healthy cat without easy outdoor access.. FIV cats make ideal Flat-Cats and the rescue charity we got ours from promoted them as ideal for flats whereas the RSPCA will simply put them to sleep...
  4. Cooling system is pressurised which increases the boiling point so reduces the chance of steam. If your water pump is running properly and your radiator and pipework isn't blocked, then the coolant will be flowing too quickly to boil on a hot spot and the system should dissipate the heat that's produced. Dont forget that heat transfer takes a while to happen, that's why you can put your hand through a lit candle flame without burning your skin off. Bikes aren't only built for UK climate, they will also run in scorching hot countries with no problems so if you have overheating problems in the UK there could be something wrong with your cooling system.
  5. i had a cat with HIV. he was a flat cat - not allowed outside due to reduced immune system, so he was the ideal pet when i lived in a flat with no garden..
  6. your cooling system is designed to keep the engine at the correct temperature. if its too cold, the thermostat will stay closed, if its too hot, the fan will start up. So if the waterless coolant cause the bike to run cooler, the thermostat will just stay closed for longer. if it runs hotter then the fan will kick in more... Without modifications to your cooling system its a waste of money IMO.
  7. Nope, no need to earth the system just as your Bike is not permanently wired to earth
  8. Its not the money that prevents me, its the time. Im busy all weeek working (earning the money) and at weekends I need family time. If I took time off in the week to go racing, I'd then not be earning the moeny to pay for it... Time for a lottery win!
  9. I've got the larger one with hanging space underneath and metal coat hangers. Also hangers for trousers with clips to clamp onto them. A space for boots helmet and gloves in a little compartment. Works well for me!

    STORAGE

integrate a front wheel support and the bike could be stored upright, rather than leaned over on the side stand. also gives something to lock the front wheel to. having the bike upright would reduce the width requirement.

although most with an R12000GS would have a garage to keep it in... they dont want them getting wet!

Take a look at this miniguide... http://www.planningportal.gov.uk/permis ... /miniguide I have some building work going on at the moment, so i've spent the last year dealing with planning applications, architects and building control etc... its a right pain in the arse to be honest!!

yes they can make you take it down.. if its to the side or forward of the front elevation of your house its not allowed... The question is, would a bike cover be classed as an "Out Building"?? Imagine if everyone erected sheds in their front gardens!! lol

    STORAGE

as long as its not over 2m tall Seem to remember someone on the forum being ordered by the council to remove a bike store they had on their driveway.. Think the rules are based on where the storage is placed as well as it's size.

It wasn't entirely bad advice.. It worth investigating what sizes youre allowed for these types of thing to ensure the people buying them Dont get into trouble with the local planning office. No point making something if people need planning permission to use it!!
  16. can you see the map as you're riding along? Mine is too high for me to see. I have to take my hands off the bars and sit up to be able to read the map!
  17. Heres mine... it looks huge! if packed badly i cant reach the handlebars.. if packed correctly it makes a nice place to rest my chest on long rides.
  18. Moving away from backpacks after my ride to the rally. The backpack full of stuff was pushing down on my back protector in my jacket and (ironically) gave me a really painful back!
  19. Loads of MR16 lamp connectors on eBay.. But if the lifespan is to believed, you'll never need to replace them so could just solder them in.
  20. Like the hose pipe idea.. I was wondering how to mount the bulbs without a holder. Might take a trip to the 24hour tescos to pick up some bulbs later on tonight.
  21. GU10 I said, MR16 I meant (oops)! I found all mine on Amazon - £5-10 a pop for the 4W+ wide angle types. did you bother with holders, or just solder the wires to the terminals?
  22. I must have spent about 300quid so far.. will probably be spending more in January when im off work as i'll have time to tinker with stuff... I have a halfords walking distance from my house - dangerous...
  23. had this arrive today... Planning to connect it between my solar panel and leisure battery.. its got little red lights so its got to be cool
  24. Or you could use a snorkle so your breath all went out through a tube.
  25. thats the older pinlocks... the new ones are large enough to be out of the line of sight. this is my current helmet - the Pinlock is way up out of the sight line: My old Shoie had the top of the pinlock right in the line of sight when leaning forward on a sports bike
