  1. Ive got a 1litre bottle of Volvic mineral water on my desk. On the label it says if i heat it to 180degrees, i'll be left with 130mg of solids... Flushing your system with a hosepipe and draining it out isn't going to leave anywhere near 1000ml of water behind, so as long as you refill with Coolant (not water) with all its anti corrosive properties, i don't see a problem with the hosepipe method.
  2. Mental!! How does that even happen?? What causes it to fire backwards at the speed required to impale a fairing?
  3. that sucks mate... great way to spoil your big day
  4. Think about all the classic bikes we see that were build in the 50/60/70/80's and are still running - i bet every one of them had WATER in its cooling system (assuming it's not oil/air cooled) , and they are still running.... i like the idea of white vinegar though
  5. Which insurance company you with?? My ins company just categorise them as either less than 15% flow increase or more than 15% flow increase.. An exhaust with greater than 15% flow increase only cost me 40quid to add on..
  6. I'm thinking it may be a washout.. Forecast not great but we can all hope!!
  7. Gas flowing the head without new valves or cams seems a lot of work for little gain.
  8. how much slack do you have? could you break the chain at that point and remove the link? EDIT: you certainly need some lube on there!!
  9. Get a cheap digital tacho that clips onto an HT lead so you can get an idea for the rev range. If its not revving out in top gear you can drop the gearing further. Bigbore kit would be my choice. Quick, easy and less things to go wrong!
  10. Any oil is better than none. What weight is the diesel oil? It might not be far off what you need

  19. Some footage from the side of an S1000RR. Watch for the front wheel lifting at 1:28 just before 4th gear. ">
  20. "Sales of Goods Act" is your friend... if they dont repair it, you are entitled to a full refund. Be firm but polite and they will fix it for free... EDIT: read this - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8253915.stm EDIT2: and this - http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/cgi- ... 3-1011.txt
  21. It's only round the bloody corner from you get your arse there Try living off £230 for fuel and food for another 4 weeks! £25 a week in fuel for work! would of loved to have come though! easy, thats 100quid on petrol, and 130quid on pot noodles!!
  22. With superglue??
  23. I think you should rename this to "the end of the world meet" because for us southerners, its about as far away as the end of the world.. In fact, when we look on a map, it just says "Here be dragons"
  24. Got one uploaded so far - not managed to do the rest yet...
  25. Use a disc lock reminder mate. Tie the bit that goes over the throttle to your belt loop and put your keys on the other end. That way you'll still be attached to the bike if you try and walk off without them. Genious! I'll probably end up locking my keys to myself as another precaution Lock them under your seat... i'll teach you how to get the seat off without the key!
