  1. Woah, I thought It'd of been easier and cheaper hence the 2 stroke Is it difficult to learn to do that yourself? Years ago, every 16year old kid with a moped knew how to strip and rebuild the top end with a handful of dodgy tools.. These days you have the internet and better tools so no reason why you couldn't learn to do it yourself.
  2. Some great pics in there! Captured the spirit of the evening very well I think
  3. Some great pics there!! the wedding guests must have wondered what the hell was going on when they saw us lot!! having a slightly tipsy sexy nurse hitch up her skirt and sit on my bike has to be one of the highlights of the rally
  4. Me too, and quick mirror glance if I can. OTT...maybe, but better safe than sorry. I try to keep my eyes everywhere, esp in central London! yep! the key is to keep a mental note of whats around you at all times... Another trick is to be the first to the roundabout. So overtake everyone, brake late, and you'll know nobody is gonna cut you up... still do a lifesaver though, just in case some idiot car driver gets annoyed at being passed by a bike and tries to keep up. i've seen that happen before - I just let the car sail past on my left and bump over the roundabout whilst chuckling to myself
  5. When joining a roundabout, you first have to turn left, so always a left shoulder check to make sure you're not about to turn into the path of some other road user.
  6. Home safe. Cheers to everyone for a most enjoyable weekend! And theanks to everyone who organised it. Top venue with top company!!
  7. Joeman checking in.. Got back about an hour ago. Didn't see any rain, but some roads were a little damp... I unloaded the bike then took it for a spin with no luggage! My tank bag with the Oxford chain and lock inside really raised the centre of gravity!! Anyway, i had an awesome time. Great to meet you all finally!! Sorry to hear you dropped your bike Jill. That's a real shame to end the weekend like that...
  8. Anyone made it home yet?? I've stopped on the M4 for a ginsters slice... Nom nom nom

  16. Nice one cheers! That's just up the M25 and over the bridge for me!! Like how its all online too so I only need to go there when I've actually bought something.
  17. I was wondering about a project bike for the new year. My current work contract runs out end of December so I'll be jobless January/February so will have plenty of time on my hands. Anyone know any auction houses in the London area??
  18. My waterproof oversuit arrived today. Tried it on over my leathers and its a great fit. Waiting for my new tankbag to arrive (so much for 48hour express delivery!!) Planning to travel light. T-shirt shorts and flip-flops in the tank bag, tent sleeping bag on the back of the bike.
  19. ha.you think you have a problem... you want to see the amount of shit in my living room waiting to be loaded onto 3 bikes.....now that's just not funny Could lend you my three bike trailer and estate car!! Problem solved
  20. the weather's not looking too bad considering.. http://www.bbc.com/weather/gl19
  21. Nice one.. Dont worry, there are many riders with full licences who Dont use the rear brake at all! And on some ABS equipped bikes, the computer applies the rear brake for you (linked brakes). So dont get too hung up on the rear brake
  22. Bit inconsiderate that. You've got more chance of someone turning across your path riding on high beam as you are dazzling oncoming vehicles and they will not be able to judge your distance correctly. Not really - even on full beam, during the day, bike lights are not bright enough to dazzle anyone. And the low beam on most bikes is next to useless. Also, i've never had any oncoming cars flash headlights at me to indicate they are being dazzled. Why would having lights on during the day increase the chance of someone pulling across my path?
  23. I've never really thought about it so do a bit of both I suppose. Well think about it, and dont do it!! Go into the corner slower, and gently accelerate through the turn to keep the weight on the back wheel. Remember - "Slow in - Fast out"
  24. Want both lights on? Ride about on full beam! That's what I do (during the day). You've not had it long - crash bungs might be a good idea. Padock stand bobbins and a padock stand make chain lubing a lot easier.
  25. Why would you think you should take corners with the clutch in?? If the corner is big enough, you'll come to a stop before you make it round!
