  1. If they are now a women then yea, it's "pint please darlin'". If they are now a male it is "mate". Not difficult. Ah but to know what he/she is/was forces you to assume his/her pre and post gender. If it's clear he is a man dressed as a woman, then surely "mate" is correct unless you also assume that its their (female) clothing that dictates their gender not their physical (male) characteristics in which case any man dressed in clothing that's accepted to be feminine must surely also be referred to as a female... I'm wearing a pink striped shirt today - pink being traditional a female colour.. is the barperson going to respond to me as darlin or mate??
  2. I have a problem with a transgender barmaid. I always question if I should say "pint please darlin'" or "pint please mate".
  3. Sounds German when used in a sentence: "Look at that trannie over there, ze looks like a man wearing a dress"
  4. welcome! Send it back and ask to be taken on a day trip to a bike shop to try some on and chose your own - might be able to get some gloves and other stuff too

  8. I was in the BMW dealership yesterday and got chatting to a sales guy. He told me about a scheme BMW are running for new riders where they provide all the training, all the riding gear and a GS310 bike for two years for just £99 per month. At the end of the two years you keep the riding gear but have to hand the bike back, and you get £500 towards the purchase of a new bike. Sounds an excellent deal as the riding gear alone is worth £1200.
  9. The great thing about android is that the phone is basically disposable hardware. If you use all the Google cloud offerings correctly it means that if you lose or decide to upgrade your phone all you need to do is buy a new phone and login. You don't need huge amounts of storage on the phone or SD cards or data cables - just use the cloud as Google intended and you'll get an excellent experience from relatively cheap hardware. Apple try but their solution is not as good which is why apple sell iPhone with huge memory capacity becaue it's easy to clog up an iPhone. Basically, if you don't like android, you're doing it wrong. Android on a high end phone is far superior to iOS.
  10. Worlds oldest example of a Chinese copy...
  11. Tyre slime. But to be honest, fixing a puncture is pretty simple task. Loads of YouTube videos will show you how to do it.

    bike mags

I read them all in the shops but rarely buy any.
  13. Modern gorilla glass is highly scratch resistant. I demoed this to a friend by cutting paper with a very sharp scalpel on the screen of my Nexus 5x. He wouldn't dare do that on his iPhone.
  14. WhatsApp messenger is better than imessage and you can use Google hangouts or Skype for video chat.
  15. Hard drives crash / get lost / burn up in housefires, so backup to the cloud - no need to connect to a PC and external drive, google give you free photo hosting and its great for creating albums to share with family and friends, and the search facility is very good for finding photos just by typing a keyword of what your looking for. I forgot to mention that this is in addition to my cloud account.......belt and braces, Joe..... Good lad - geographically distributed backup strategy is very good practice
  16. Apple will make you do that every year anyway, so switch to Android and the only cable you need is the charge cable that comes in the box!

  18. I was in the garage, no lights on, using my Nexus5x as a torch. I dropped it, the light went off, and i stood on it... Crack!!
  19. Hey Arwen you're the same as me. I use Google for everything. Have you tried the chrome remote desktop app on android? It's brilliant for remote desktop to servers or my mum's PC when she gets stuck!
  20. First thing, make sure you have a Google account (Gmail account) you use this to log into the phone. All your stuff is then backed up to google. Music email, contacts, calendar, all in the cloud so you can view on your desktop or your phone. Google Fit can be used for activity tracking.
  21. As a background project I'm slowly building my own GPS monitoring service. I've bought a few Gps trackers from eBay and got my software to work with them just fine. It nowhere near ready for public use but its working with my own trackers just fine. One day I might even offer it out as a service for people to use.
  22. Sim only with a Nexus5x or Pixel phone. Pure android is the best.

If you have an android phone, take a look at Tasker and MacroDroid. Two good apps that you can use to automate stuff.

  25. The cylinder head, carb and headlamp bracket look like a BSA bantam, but the badge is all wrong , and the space between the head and bottom of the tank is wrong http://i.imgur.com/ERMmfLN.jpg http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/photogallerys/BSA-Bantam.jpg?378220
