  1. And that's likely the government's intention. They don't want motorcyclists on the roads.
  2. When I first moved to Sevenoaks i rented a flat above a charity shop. I was amazed at the quality of stuff they threw in the huge bin out the back! I could have setup an eBay shop selling it and made an excellent income.
  3. I grew up in the New Forest close to Southampton, but for the last 12years, my job has only really exists in London (or other financial districts around the world) so I'm stuck having to live close to London. I tried the commute from Southampton to London and it wasnt much fun. I've lived in central London, which was great at the time, but not something I would want to do again. London is a great fun place to work, but not a great place to live as unless you have a few million quid spare, you have to settle for cramps conditions and compromises. Sevenoaks is the ideal compromise for me. Close go London - I have a garden and garage and it's a safe, family friendly place to live. Anyone wishing to leave London but remain easily commutable should really consider Sevenoaks.
  4. Not all garages let you do that as they miss out on a slice of profits from the parts. Best check first
  5. Every worn out part is an upgrade opportunity... Time for a fancy looking wavy disc
  6. Wemoto are pretty good. Good stock, good prices, fast delivery.
  7. No such thing! The artist formally known as "Alive"

    Imperial tools

I was going to say you are showing your age now but I have all those sizes Only by default though I have my dads tools that he left when he popped his clogs! I've got my grandad's and his dad's tools. Some are still in regular use. Got a lovely old club hammer with a wooden handle that's worn over the years from generations of my family using it. Can just imagine the stuff it's whacked over the years!
  9. Rumour has it he didn't listen to his mum and kept going outside in the Purple Rain without a coat on and caught flu... too soon??
  10. Do they get too hot in summer?
  11. I have these http://www.intogear.net/rayven-pulse-leather-glove-black.ir" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and I must say they have dropped more than half the price since I bought them can't complain at the minute They look bloody good value for money!! is that the place you ordered them from too?
  12. ah good info.. what gloves you got now?
  13. I noticed yesterday that i've worn out the palm of my right glove, and it's now got a small hole in it. They've done well - ive had them for many years, and they weren't expenive when i bought them, but they've been so comfy i've never bothered to replace them. Im thinking of getting some of these new Alpine Start SP-Air gloves... anyone got/tried them?? https://www.jsaccessories.co.uk/buy/SP-Air-Gloves/21455.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Not cheap, but look good quality.

    Imperial tools

just what i was about to say. in the past i often had to hammer an imperial socket onto a rounded metric nut or bolt. also, when getting into narrow spaces, i've ground the sides off imperial sockets to make them fit in. They all have their uses
  15. Big problem we have is that if the Out vote is successfully, it will be the current government who want to stay in who have the job of organising the split. Can't trust them to do a good job of something they don't want to do, and warned everyone not to do. They'll make a right pigs ear of the whole thing just so they can say "told you so" and put up all our taxes to cover the costs if thier incompetence. Doomed either way.
  16. It's good protection for their other customers. Just becaue the item looks unused with tags still attached etc, doesn't mean it's still in brand new, pristine condition. I'd rather buy from a retailer knowing the item i was buying hadn't been bought already and taken to someone else's house, sat about for a while whilst they decide they don't like it, and returned to the shop. Anything could have happened to the items whilst it was away from the store - new leather trousers sat about it wearing no underwear, gloves put on after picking nose/arse/worse, item been in a smokey house and stinks of smoke, or malicious actions such as stitching being unpicked, or sharp objects inserted into the armour.. Credit note is the best option to avoid the nasties and ensure new products are actually new.
  17. Many years ago as a 16year old lad, I regularly split two stroke engine cases apart. I don't remember using any specific tools. Tapping the end of the crank and gently prising with a kitchen knife used to do it!
  18. Just bite the bullet and go for it. 600quid to get your full licence, compared to doing a CBT, buying a 125cc bike, insuring and taxing it, running about for a while, then doing lessons and tests... Then selling the 125 for a loss.. 600quid will seem cheap once you add that little lot up!!
  19. I've got a W-reg VW Passat that just won't die. Ive had it about 6year and its sailed through it's MOT each year (apart from last year when the idiots at the test centre couldn't open the bonnet - but that's another story). In all the years I've owned it, and used it purely for muddy dogs and trips to the local tip, its only cost me a backbox, front CV boot and a battery. All the electrics and air-con etc work perfectly. You can't go far wrong with German engineering IMO, so for 200notes you could get a cracking little run about... I'd say go for it!!
  20. Can't reuse a jam jar for hygiene reasons, buy if you pop over to France and buy bread from a bakery, they will often handle the bread with the same hands they handle the money with...
  21. UK.gov saying if we leave the EU, income tax will increase 8%. That's terrible scaremongering IMO. What I don't get is what do the politicians stand to gain from staying in the EU and why an exit would be so bad for them.
  22. Bought lots of stuff from J&S and never had a problem. Never had to return anything as I make sure stuff fits before buying it!! Buying online your are entitled to a cooling off period during which time you can return items for any reason, but that's not the case for instore purchases. Many stores won't give a refund. Why should they? You had time to browse, try stuff on, and decide for yourself before paying. If you subsequently change your mind, why should they lose out?? Infinity might have been shocked, buy i dare you to test them out.. Buy something from infinity and try to take it back... In my experience infinity have always been more expensive than J&S anyway.
  23. So frustrating that most intercoms limit the number of people who can talk at once. What we need is the good old fashioned CB radios on bikes! Then you could chat to anyone and as many people as you like. These look interesting for the price: https://www.pmctelecom.co.uk/tti-pmr-506mh-super-slim-pmr446-radio-helmet-mic-kit" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
  24. Dude, you're single!! Forget locking yourself in your bedroom and watching TV, and get out there and party +
  25. Did you hear about the dyslexic prostitute? She tried to get a job at a warehouse....
