  1. Sold with service history but youve not received the service history. Sounds like a job for trading standards to investigate. There is nothing stopping the dealership redacting the personal information and providing the service history that you paid for. No service history the purchase isn't complete...
  2. Same goes for expensive bikes...
  3. Used to be able to get ones that read the wheel speed and engine speed and calculate which gear you are in. Gear indicators are pointless though in real life. You wont use it
  4. Looks pretty good from the photos. Loads of mods and looks like might have a Kais fork opgrade (looks like a Kais sticker anyways) If the price is right even if it needs a few jobs doing you can't go too far wrong with a gsxr750.
  5. If you don't like notifications, go into setting and switch off notifications for the apps you don't want notifications from.
  6. You need to install outlook on your Android phone. Most of the ms software is available on Android.
  7. Install the Microsoft launcher - it might feel more familiar to you.
  8. I bought one a few years ago and was impressed with them. Still got it in my box of stuff somewhere. Must dig it out and Make use of it.
  9. That's identical to the 20quid tracker from eBay but with a sticker and a huge price tag.
  10. The only ones that reduce insurance cost more than you save to buy.
  11. Radial calipers tend to have the bolts spaced far apart at each end of the caliper whereas non-radial calipers have them closer to the middle. With conventional brakes having the bolts mounted parallel to the wheel axis there is a shearing force generated which could easily result in vibration or twisting. With radial brakes having the bolts mounted perpendicularly to the axle it means the shearing force is eliminated so no flex if vibration will occur. And because there is no flexing it mean calipers can be spaced further away from the axle allowing for larger brake discs. Thats my thoughts on it anyway. It's all to do with the distribution of forces through the mounts.
  12. If there was no advantage then why does pretty much every race bike for the last 10+ years have them??
  13. If you have kids, when driving them in the car, play a game of "count the Cyclists/motorbikes" that will program their brains to lookout for bikers.

  15. If it helps, it comes off a long descent where you can easily hit 40mph even on a bicycle, so you have a fair bit of momentum. Which is also why the following comment is a bit nonsensical.... GPS shows I go across the roundabout at 14mph. On approach I was doing 23mph. The clicking of the gears was because I was slowing so matching my gear for my speed. Would you tell a car driver they should do less than 14mph over such a roundabout? Besides, I nearly took one for the car just behind me that she pulled out on too. Going too fast to go around the correct side of the roundabout which is where the car driver would have been looking.. and you did what all Cyclists tend to do which is try desperately not to slow down and instead chose to pass the car regardless.. Had you taken the roundabout correctly you would have slowed down enough to pull in behind the car.
  16. Here's one I built a few years back. https://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=56776&p=886611&hilit=Playhouse#p886551
  17. Your buying the materials from the wrong place if that's happening. Factoring in the price of your own time, it's unlikely you can build a bespoke one off building for less than the price of buying a mass production item.
  18. Did you use an inline fuse close to the battery?? If not, you probably should.
  19. One thing that amuses me is people spend 150quid on a cheap android phone, moan about it being crap then decide the best option is to go spend 500quid+ on an iPhone and then wonder why it's a better phone. Just because you can buy an android for 150quid doesn't mean you should. If you're a heavy phone user and you like your apps etc, spend a reasonable amount of cash and buy a proper phone. Samsung S8plus is my current phone and it's a fantastic phone. They are going down in price now too so well worth considering.
  20. Loads of second hand concrete prefabs on eBay etc for sale for not a lot of money. Bolt them together, stick on an insulated roof and youre done for a fraction of the price and more secure than thin metal or wood.
  21. No, but filtering or simply being around loads of cars, vans, trucks and buses in darkness people are less likely to notice me as a bike. I'd rather spend a few months commuting by car than be stopped from riding bikes for the rest of my life as some driver squished me cause they simply thought I was a car that was further away... Just gotta adapt your riding style but fair enough your choice See the thing with all new riders is that they are not experienced enough to see the potential dangers. Riding a motorcycle is about managing risk. If youre too inexperienced to be aware of all the risks then you cant manage them properly and will blindly ride into situations that an experienced riders would avoid. Pretty clear from that comment that youre still an eager newbie riding about blisfully unaware of many of the dangers... So maybe instead of patronising experienced riders you could try to learn from them so you don't become another new biker road accident statistic...
  22. I wanted to be a fighter pilot. I was in the air cadets and did a load of flying. I did a bunch of tests and was told I stood a good chance of being a fast jet pilot but that I should goto uni first and get my degree in physics.. Whilst at uni I had far too much fun and decided military life wouldn't be for me after all. I got my physics degree and fell into software development jobs... It would have been great to fly jet fighters but then when I watch the TV documentaries about the red arrows etc, I look at the blokes who fly them and I really don't see myself fitting in with them so I reckon I made the right choice.. One thing I'd say though is that I had no idea what jobs were available when I was in school. I had no idea about the city of London or financial software or anything that I find myself doing on a daily basis now. I wonder if kids these days are equally in the dark about their future job prospects?
  23. When I was a lad, growing up in the new forest me and my mates always carried knives, catapults, and occasionally air riffles. It was the norm for kids to have knives for sharpening sticks, cutting rope etc. One day we were out in the woods and saw a guy in an old classic car broken down by the side of the road, so we wandered over to take a look at the car. The owner explained he had a split water hose and needed to cut the split end off. He asked if any of us had a knife.. we all reached for our knives at the same time. He was very pleased to be confronted with a bunch of teenagers holding a selection of 6inch Rambo knives!! Oh how times have changed...
