I might even manage to turn up on a bike for this meet

with the added bonus that i miss my new niece's weekend visit. babies are ok for a couple of hours but then they're a bit boring :?

Tango and myself may be up for this if we can get the Friday off work. We think we may have to take a bit more time to get up there and back though as 500 miles plus rideouts over 2 days may be a bit much for our @rses etc... and we would want to see a bit of the countryside.

What's the agenda? Rideout Friday, get drunk Friday night, recover Sat morning and off later on? What time to people normally arrive on the Friday?

Posted

i couldnt get friday off last year, so arrived after midnight lol...have already booked it off this year , and definitely going on the bike .

Posted

Its normally turn up Friday and set the camp up/get organised then drink around a campfire (Gareth cooks) then Saturday a rideout up to Hartside and then around a lake ish sat night back around the campfire and sunday pack up go home.

Gareth brings a big tent that we can all stand inside if the weather is bad like last year.

Will cancel in plenty of time if not coming, but definitely assume I will be there! Can't wait!

Odd, I was planning a camping trip up to the lakes (on my lonesome) either the weekend before or the weekend after this!

Might have to change my plans and join you guys, though I'm sure my little CBF125 would be terrified off all those proper bikes

Your 125 would be most welcome.

I'm (probably) coming - just need to sort a few domestics out first before I can confirm.

As for 'sitting round the camp fire' - I've yet to experience this at the site (as the last two years it pi$$ed it down!)

It only rainned last year Gog (the year you turned up)

A Rideout suggestion for the Saturday is to do the 5 passes.

Kirkstone Pass

Wrynose Pass

Hardknot Pass

Honister Pass

Whinlatter Pass

This route will give you some of the best views the Lake district has to offer. However Its about 110 miles with some challenging corners on 30% climbs and descents.

Some off you will want to do the road up to Hartside again   and have a blast up over that way so there's a choice of 2

i'd like to come on a rideout after not managing to bring the bike last year... hope theres one i can join without feeling inadequate lol

Year before last we had a bloody big fire and cooked on it, I think Gog was having an early night on that occasion

This is the 3rd Keswick trip isn't it?

so what youre really saying is that your girlfriend has complained that youre spending too much time away from her and that your only allowed out to play or one night instead of two. :D
