maccy
I went into poundstretchers earlier... yes I know, But I needed a tyre pump and desperate times called for desperate measures (the bast*rds don't sell one anyway and I have since scrubbed any bare flesh with bleach and burnt my clothes to prevent any disease)Anyway they have a full Christmas decoration display out now, multiples shelves filled with baubles, trees and other tat. Grumpy Old Git
Origin: Celebration of the birth of Christ. Therefore, they are all 'Birthday Cards'.
XmisterIS
It really pisses me off that people seem to have completely forgotten what Christmas/Yule is all about! If you're Christian, it's about celebrating the birth of Christ, or if you are a pagan like me, it's all about celebrating the Winter Solstice. It should not be characterised by shameless superficial commercialism.(rant over)
Grumpy Old Git
Do you put up 'fairy lights' for the Solstice then?
XmisterIS
Do you put up 'fairy lights' for the Solstice then? Lol! We do, as it happens! We also have a Christmas tree because it is a completely Pagan thing ... it comes from the festival of Yule where they would tie a sacrificial victim to the tree and burn him/her alive (hence the candles/lights and the "angel" on the top of the tree). thebendyfox
I spend most of my time in a country where Christmas is illegal. You miserable gits wouldn't like it then would you But August is far too early. November 6th and onwards IMO.

XmisterIS
I have been touched by his noodly appendage No, you're confusing pastafarianism with German porno. Or perhaps they're the same thing. Only Das Heilige Spaetzle really knows ...
