cockercas Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 What are you getting your better half? There's two massive flower factory's about 2miles from mine and the polish will do me a huge bouquet of flowers.Last year I gave them £20 and in return got £100+ of flowers (my ant is a florist). Fresh and lasted ages. She's ill so I get to avoid the meal out Quote
Guest Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I'm riding my other half back to Yorkshire Quote
Guest Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I'm riding my other half back to YorkshireIs she supposed to enjoy that??? Quote
baggy Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 My Mrs collects coins so I have got her the 2015 proof set. Loads of specials in the set including a Churchill 50p and a Magna Carta special Quote
GazW Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 We both agree it's a crock of shit and don't buy into it.£50 for a meal that would usually be half that. No thanks. Quote
al_stu Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 We both agree it's a crock of shit and don't buy into it.£50 for a meal that would usually be half that. No thanks. Same. food is usually rubbish too as they're so busy. With a wedding to pay for it seems daft to waste a fortune. I debated one of those supermarket meal in for 20 quid jobys but have been informed that she has been the butchers and made a nice stew already. It's a hard life. Quote
Mr Fro Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 For Valentine's day this year I will be continuing rewiring our new house while she's on a jolly up with her mates. Therefore she gets nowt. Quote
RantMachine Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Going for a ride together, then having a themed picnic in Thetford forest. Don't fancy paying extra to eat in a restaurant that's more crowded than usual and rushes you out the door to free up a table! Plus I'd prefer to do something a bit special. Quote
Fozzie Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Tower of London and surrounding areas I have planned things but not on Valentines day as everyone and their mum will be there.Have I suffered time dilation or something... It feels like 3 years have passed since the last Valentines day. It has been such a long year Quote
Glorian Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Couple of beers, bag of cheetos and a breaking bad marathon. Quote
humbucker Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 We met on Valentines Day 1982 so we tend to make it a special day. A light lunch at a local Pizzeria, take her to the shop full of shiny things and then dinner at a lovely little Spanish restaurant where we are never crowded in, the food is sublime and celebrate our good fortune at having shared another year together. It's enough to make you throw up I know, but we like it. Whitey1984 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 A Pandora charm, and as shes working a nice Steak dinner when she gets in from work. Quote
bmwdave Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Offered to take her out for dinner but she said she'd rather have a £20 M&S dine in meal as eating out will cost double on Saturday. Bought the flowers in yesterday as working tomorrow and Saturday and want to use the bike to save time and money. Must get a card sorted today. Quote
Grumpy Old Git Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Nowt this year.In the past I once took her (surprise) to Paris and got a lovely little hotel (suite and private lift) 'on spec', just off the top of the Champs Elisie. Booked a table at a 'closed' restaurant (through the hotel reception) and had a superb meal, entertainment and a fresh rose given her by the staff. She was 'happy' for about 6 months after that! Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 im leaving my mrs at home for the day and going to help another forum member fix their bike..........i think i will still have a house to come home to Quote
fq-craigus Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 She is getting a card, fake rose in a box and a cusion for her sofa with a pug on it, valentines is a load of rubbish we both agree but we also both know ahe will want at least something Quote
Chrissb6 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I'd sooner cook myself than be ripped off at a restaurant that hikes the prices up just for the day Quote
techno Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Nothing as usual, we both agree to this same as birthday, Xmas and anniversaries. All things made to rip you off.Surely it's better to surprise them on some random day of the year? Quote
Fozzie Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 The marketing crap came in way after these things were celebrated so some flowers and maybe a cake wouldnt go amiss (for birthdays) Quote
