Guest Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 hi guysJust as the title says really..As you may of seen my topic about me meeting a bloke off a facebook bikers page, that lives local to me..he has the exact same bike as me..BUT.. HE IS REALLY BEGINNING TO GET ON MY NERVES..Sounds silly.. but when something silly is a constant thing, you get sick of hearing it.all i hear from him is.. "i got a full licence, your just a learner"... or "my bike is faster than yours".. like its always a gloat..a few examples of the gloating, even when it doesnt come up in a convo..sat at road works the other day with him, filtered to the front (legally), and turns out the bloke that had the brilliant job of holding the STOP sign, happened to love bikes too..then suddenly, i heard "ive got a full licence though, he only a little learner"...or yesterday, we popped up to JB Bikes, local bike shop to me, because he needs a new speedo cable...we was standing at front desk while the bloke ordered the part in..the shop keeper said "speedo cable for a lexmoto adrenaline yeah"??/so this bloke (nick), replies with "yes mate, thats it... he's only a learner, im the one with the full licence"...like it didnt even fit into the convo, but wanted to gloat anyway...my sister met up with me yesterday while i was sitting chatting to him.. my sister turned up on her little scooter...what did we hear next?? "ahhh another learner.. good job ive got a full licence"...im serious.. its all the F**ing time.. if we are chatting to someone new, he has to bring it up and brag..or if i write a post about my bike on the facebook bike page im on.. he has to reply to it, with "race ya"????its beginning to do my head in tbh..like who cares if his bike is slightly faster, and who cares if im a learner...its the fact that i enjoy motorcycles, thats whats important...Any replies i can give him to shut him up?i seriously am getting fed up with hearing it, my little sister was with us yesterday for all of an hour or so.. and she was sick of hearing it... in 1 hour!!!sorry about the long essay, just wanted to be clear about how he gloats... mattycoops43 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 (edited) I don't understand why you would be friends with a bellend like that? Edited May 20, 2015 by mattycoops43 Quote
Whitey1984 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I see this as you have a few options:1) Walk away from him and stop meeting up with him.2) Lay him out, normally shuts people up.3) Talk to him and ask him why he feels the need to tell everyone he has a full licence, normally its because of someones own insecurity that they have to mention it at every opportunity.4) Make a joke of it, so if you know hes going to say something about it jump in beforehand and with a sarcastic tone "Yeah im only a learner though, old billy big bollocks over here has a full licence" or next time he mentions it "Sorry have you got a full licence? you should have mentioned it i didnt realise "Do you get on with him other than this constant commenting? I take it you do so it could be worth just having a quiet word. Quote

We have a good laugh together, and enjoy riding our bikes on good weather days..Plus, i know his mrs too, so we all just tend to chill out or whatever..its just that constant bragging..i normally just let it go in one ear and out the other.. but this morning just got on my nerves..Some person on the biker page im on, commented and asked if anyone owned a lexmoto adrenaline, and asked if they were any good, so i gave my honest opinions of the bike. then who replied, tagging me in the post??he did... with "race ya" and loads of laughing faces...i was just like "Wtf, 9am in the f**ing morning, and still need to brag!!!i normally say to him, "but why havent i got a real fast bike and a full bike licence nick?? because ive got a house, a mrs and two kids to put first, where as you just live at home with your mum, so you can afford luxuries".... it doesnt shut him up though... XmisterIS Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Next time he says it in public, just shout, "I'm a happy camper!" Then, stare at him. Just stare at him. Quote
TC1474 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Next time he says something about being a full licence holder, come back at him and say something along the lines of Full licence = little willy So when he says "ive got a full licence though, he only a little learner"...You can reply"Maybe a little learner, but my willy is bigger" That tends to shut them up Or something along those lines... Grumpy Old Git Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 As he is your 'friend', just tell him you are pi$$ed off with this and if it continues, you will have no recourse other than to stop meeting with him.If he is indeed a friend, he will acknowledge this and back off. If not, you lose nothing from breaking your freindship. Quote

Fozzie Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Simple reply..."You're full license holder on a 125... That's like bragging you won at the special Olympics because you're able... What kind of sick twisted c**t are you?"Go a bit dark on him.Or just say "Yep, he's the one with the full license and the same bike" *Waggle pinky finger so he knows he's compensating for something". Joeman Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Exact same bike?Just have his number plate made up, stick it on your bike, go through a few speed cameras... He won't have a full licence for long Quote
Glorian Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Exact same bike?Just have his number plate made up, stick it on your bike, go through a few speed cameras... He won't have a full licence for long We have a winner. Quote

KTM21 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Is it that kind of relationship where they are a friend but you can't just say anything to them, if not then just say it to him. If it is then whenever he brings up that he has a full licence, just keep making fun of the fact that he's still on a 125. He won't wont to bring it up all the time then Quote

raesewell Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Another ideaHe's got a full license but an empty head, bless him Quote
fq-craigus Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Tell him to jog on and stop meeting with him. Or iron him out. Or just point out he is a licence holder with a learners bike cant he handle a proper one? No offence to you bike how ever. I personally like the idea of new plate and speed cameras dont forget to take your l plate off though (who said that?) Quote
RantMachine Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Stay friends with him! When your warranty runs out you can pinch free replacement parts off his bike while he's using the little boys room Quote
Dav3y Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 whenever he says that just finish off the sentence for him........says the guy with the full license and restricted bikeFailing that, pass your test, get a bigger bike and tell him nothing until the day you turn up for a ride out with your bigger bike. The look on his face would be priceless. Quote
Guest Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 makes me laugh how he can take the piss out of my L plates.. But according to my licence type, im riding the most powerful im allowed.. where as he has a full licence and still rides around on a 125, So basically, according to licence types.. ive got the sports bike of my licence limits, and he is ponsing around in a vauxhall corsa on two wheels Quote
cockercas Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Sounds like a bellend.I know people like this, i dont associate with them, even if the mrs is freinds with their mrs. Just tell him to do one. He is a bloke off the net.Typical black dog.If you have a black dog theirs is blacker. Quote
mailee66 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 When he says it next just reply with "yes but I can ride mine properly" then watch his face. Quote
donnk Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 If he's a fried have a quiet chat along the lines 'can you stop the licence ribbing it's starting to get irritating.'If that doesn't work put the stop sign carrying gobshite on his backside. Quote
NeilM Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 Maybe you need to ask yourself if you need people like that in your life? Quote
