Not really, never had that problem myself because of the bike helmet! Do you dye or bleach your hair?

When my hair is all dry and frizzy from bleaching and dyeing it, I use this http://www.boots.com/en/Lee-Stafford-Fr ... l_1417450/ . I can't recommend Lee Stafford products enough if you don't mind paying a bit more - they almost always have offers in Boots too though so they aren't too expensive. I spray it into my hands and spread it through towel-dried hair. There is a Frizz Off shampoo and conditioner too, might be worth a try.

Never had the problem myself, and I have very long hair and often wear my helmet for whole days at a time! Worst that happens is it gets greasy a bit quicker than usual, but not by much.

I use Tresemme Colour Revitalise, which doesn't just preserve the coloured bits in my hair, it also moisturises intensely to try and repair some of the damage that all the bleach did  I only condition the tips of my hair and the bleached bits, and again I use the Tresemme Colour stuff. So I guess if your colour is natural, I'd recommend giving their intensive moisturiser stuff a shot? Essentially the same but without the chemicals that preserve artificial colour.

Also, if you blow dry your hair then Boots do this stuff called Hair Protection Shine Serum that you rub/comb through your wet hair before drying that further protects it from drying out and getting brittle. It's one of their own-brand products, the packaging is plain white and it's the same sort of size as one of those sanitizing gel bottles, even down to the little pump nozzle on top.

Hope some of that helps :thumb:

My main problem is my hair escaping from my jacket & scarf when I'm on a motorway and being one big knot by the time I arrive at my destination...

If I leave my hair down it gets dry and knotty so I just plat it keeps it neat and tidy :-)

Over the years I have spent a fortune on hair stuff to stop it being frizzy, now I just accept that my hair is the frizzy kind and I cannot really get rid of it all. But to tame it down a bit, and to stop it drying out from bleaching it I use Osmo Deep Repair Mask or Osmo Colour radiance Mask for the first 4 or 5 washes after I've coloured it.

Once thing I have noticed is that the type of water plays a huge part in how my hair feels. Up here in Dundee we have soft water. I find using cheap shampoo and condition keeps my hair soft and shiny looking. If I buy the more expensive stuff like tresemme, pantene etc, my hair goes dull and weirdly stretchy, then ends up splitting half way down the hair. If I go somewhere where they have hard water however, the outcome is reversed.

On the bike I braid my hair, to stop the massive knot making an appearance like Miss Meg says!

What exactly do you mean you hair is all gross when you take your helmet off? Is it dry or greasy or flat or are you getting lots of splits from where your helmet sits on your head?

This might sound weird, but if you have long hair, and you find it drying out it could be because the natural oils that your scalp produces could be getting absorbed my your helmet, rather than your hair. I'd suggest either wearing a buff over your hair when in the helmet, or if you can, don't wash your hair every day. Try every other day or every 3rd day.

I've never tried that product you have been recommended, but it contains Jojoba, which is what you will be looking for if you want your hair to be smooth, soft and shiny. It is in many good shampoo and conditioners and I would recommend it. (It is in those Osmo repair masks I've linked too) It is especially useful if you have to wash your long hair every day, as it replaces your naturally produced oils. I tend to leave it in my hair for a good 10min before rinsing it off.

I now feel incredibly girly after typing all that about hair!

Try using a Buff neck warmer thingy. Use it as skull cap or hair wrap or of you get a long one it can go over your head and neck holding your hair down from blowing around too much.
