A couple of weeks ago Bonnniebird and I were at the regular Tuesday evening bike meet, just watching the bikes roll in, whilst munching on our burgers, when a group of bikes rolled in accompanied by a woman riding a Can Am Spyder (sporty 3 wheeled jobbie). When the woman took her lid off I said to Bonniebird that I thought I recognised her, but I couldn't think from where. After about 30 mins the penny dropped. She used to go out with an old mate of mine when I lived in Kent. At the time he had a Honda CBX-6 and I had my XS1100. Due to a bike accident she'd lost a bit of mobility in one leg, so she struggled with the position of the Pillion pegs on the CBX, so she often used to ride pillion on my XS1100 because the pegs were more comfy for her. Anyway, her and my mate split up and I didn't see her again.......until a couple of weeks ago.....75 miles from where we used to live......and 30+ years later!!

So, we ended up in the same pub on the same night, 30 odd years later and a long way from where we used to live!

Bonniebird and myself went over to her and her husbands place today......and tried to catch up with 30+ years........and admire the nice collection of bikes they've got..... 8-)

A small world indeed. I used to go out with a girl who lived next door but one to me in Stoke. We split up 20 years ago and had no contact whatsoever until we recently became Facebook friends, when we discovered we'd spent the last five years living less than 500 yards apart in Harrogate! :o

Funny how these things happen. A mate of mine split up with his girlfriend when he was 19. That was nearly forty years ago. He hadn't seen her since that day but often spoke of her. (Secretly, I think he never really got over the split. It was his first real love  ).

Anyway, a few months ago he bought something from ebay and decided to collect in person since it was local. Anyway, who should open the door?

No, but she is the third straight woman to tell me that if she was a lesbian she'd happily get it on with my wife. I'm sure there's an opportunity I'm missing out on here...

If I were a lesbian I'd happily get it on with your wife! If I knew your wife that is.

I don't believe you. I need PROOF!

Secretly hoping she's the spitting image of a 25 year old Felicity Kendal...

Fixed.

I must say Mr Fro - That for a young 13 year old girl living in such a remote place, your sense of grammer and the English language, is just excellent!

Cheers Al, there is absolutely nothing else to do up here except watch Billy Connolly and practice writing.

Did I ever tell you of the time me & T'missus met the 'Big yun'?

It was at the Steamboat Hotel, Lossimouth (right next to the harbour). Thursday nights were 'Folk Night' and he actually asked if he could join us in the upstairs room  Mrs had (and still has) a 6-string and he had brought his banjo. Brilliant night!

Some people have all the luck - doesn't matter how many times I listen to his live stuff, it always makes me laugh.

Jobbie Weecha! :-D

:stupid:

That was absolutely brilliant!

At the Folk Night, he played his 'Welly song' as well as quite a few 'real' folk songs. The lead member of our group played a 12-string and that was the first time I heard the now famous '12-string blues' where the strings/notes are diliberately mis-plucked in places. Similar to the 'Anre preview' sketch on Morcambe & Wise, where Eric states that he plays all the right notes but not necessarily in the right places.

I have a newspaper article somewhere with a picture of the group - I'll have to dig it out and post it up on here.
