Guest Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 I've ridden my SV650S for quite a while now. I'm experiencing something when I'm in a corner with a reasonable amount of lean angle. If I go to adjust the rate of turn, when applying pressure to the handlebars there appears to be very little feedback from the bars themselves. It feels "loose". This is not confidence inspiring. Is this a normal response? What will happen if i push past this point? Two things to note, the front suspension was rebuilt last year, and also I weight about 8St 7lb. Quote
rennie Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 first thing to check is tyre pressures Quote
Guest Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 How big is the squared off bit on the rear tyre?8st? Quote
Chrissb6 Posted December 11, 2016 Posted December 11, 2016 Not time of the year to be looking at limits the road are way to dirty for that sort of malarkey, concentrate on keeping nice, calm and steady. Quote
Guest Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 (edited) I would check;-tyre pressures-wheel spindle tightness-wheel bearings-steering head bearings not tight enough-suspension, looking for it to be too soft. Edited December 12, 2016 by Anonymous Quote

Tango Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 Does it kinda drop into low speed corners?.... If so, could be the shoulders on the front tyre are worn, so the profile is more V shaped..... Quote
Joeman Posted December 12, 2016 Posted December 12, 2016 does your bike have a steering damper fitted?if so, add that to the list of items to check. Quote
mattycoops43 Posted December 13, 2016 Posted December 13, 2016 All the above. Plus-have you got more confident, so you are now cornering harder without realising. Most bikes reach a point where it all loosens up a bit. Usually, just before you fall off. apart from my CX500 which was 5degrees from vertical. Quote
acting_strange Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 I found my Strom 65o loose but then I fitted a fork brace and change the tyre type (to Michelin PR4 Trails) and have no problems at all now. I have total confidence in my front end. Quote
tigger004 Posted March 14, 2017 Posted March 14, 2017 My first thought was squaring off of the tyres, then check everything for play and tightness, also many years ago I had a 250 honda superdream that felt like the frame was made of plastercine, turned out to be play in swingarm bearings, As someone else said maybe your confidence has changed and you are pushing harder, don't over do it or it will become very loose especially this time of year, good luck jeffSent by Tigger from my Tablet Quote
