Carter101 Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Hi guys. Got a question would to much pressure in the crankcase cause a bike to not start? Quote
Bender Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 If it's caused by very poor compression, if you have a very worn bore/rings, would have to be pretty bad though.Check plug, check compression. Quote
Grumpy Old Git Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 That is why the older bikes had 'crankcase breathers'.Remove oil filler cap/bung and try turning over the engine (NB. disconnect the spark pug(s) otherwise, if it starts, it will spray oil everywhere!) Quote
fastbob Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 I understand that the CBR 125 also has a crankcase breather so unless its blocked you haven't got pressure in your crankcase. Quote
Tango Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Is this a hypothetical question.......or do you actually have a problem with the bike not starting?.......and what is leading you down this path? Maybe a bit more information would be useful. ......so that you'll hopefully get the appropriate answers to your question. ...... Quote
