Michael Subzda Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Hello, I am planning to buy a motorbike in one month. I will be doing CBT next week. I am looking to get a decent commuter that doesn't look bad or is rusty. My price range is up to £800. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find anything other than Chinese bikes and I really don't want one. If you know any good 125 with the price range please let me know. All help appreciated! Thank you Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 See if you can find an old CG125. Now dated but still a reliable workhorse. Quote
Mr Fro Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Where are you? I could be persuaded to part with my CG. Quote
skyrider Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 it's a honda so its got to be a good little work horse Quote
fastbob Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Easy, get one within your budget that DOES look bad and IS rusty but is MECHANICALLY SOUND. Then get the sanding pads, wire wool, degreaser and rattle cans out , apply some love and elbow grease until it DOESN'T look bad and is no longer rusty . So not only will you have got more motorcycle for your money, you will be able to gaze upon it with pride and say " I did that " And when you're bored with it and want to move on you might just get most of your money back. fastbob Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 (edited) CG 125 . Easiest bike in the world to break down to a bare frame , clean up and then bung back together again . I've refurbished nine of these beauties and made a nice little profit every time. Steer clear of YBRs , too many moving parts to go wrong . Edited February 21, 2019 by fastbob Quote
skyrider Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 and your next bike you might feel you want to do the same again and have pride in it Quote
