Desmond.22 Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Apologies if this common question or asked before but.Did CBT recently although got cut short (long story) so need go back redo most of day again.Struggling a bit with gears on road ride up and down etc and with road position manoeuvre and speed etc. Ive seen you can get 125cc scooters and wondering if this is easier to learn and get basics of then get a bike with gears and sell teach ince got hang of road riding positioning etc etc. If so should i go back and finish my CBT on this type of "automatic" bike. Suppose like driving car and learning automatic then learning manual when you know a bit more. Thanks Quote
Discomfort Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 I would try the bike again, it's not tok hard to master. A good CBT place should be able to accommodate you. Quote
Fleck Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 I think you're chomping at the bit a bit. It takes time to learn and time seems to go slowly when you're learning the basics. Stick with the geared bike, it will come, I guarantee you Quote
Fleck Posted September 5, 2019 Posted September 5, 2019 Also, I've got a scooter and a bike and the bike is much easier to ride, you have better control with the manual clutch, big wheels heavier so you don't get blown about and with your legs either side of the bike it's more comfortable and a lot more stable Why do I ride a scooter too? Well It only weighs 103kg so goes on the back of our motorhome, has helmet storage so is annoyingly practical and is only £17 a year to tax. Quote
dynax Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Bike without a doubt, keep at it you will get the hang of it Quote
Desmond.22 Posted September 6, 2019 Author Posted September 6, 2019 Ok so next question following on. Should i pass my cbt on auto buy the manual (geared) and practice on local roads to me Quote
dynax Posted September 6, 2019 Posted September 6, 2019 Probably the easiest option, and you could also pay for a few hours tuition on a geared bike to help you grasp the basics Quote
