Hello

I have a honda cbf600, recently had the carbs balanced and came across a split in my airbox, so I temporarily fixed it, but now I've gone from 160miles before the petrol light comes on to barely 100miles and the petrol light comes on. The fixture I didnt doesn't seem to have broken, and I'm not leaving wet pat hes when I stop, also cant see any leeks?

Any help would be great

Thank you

No the spilt looks like it happened natural but, there wasn't a spilt before the carbs where balanced, the airbox is standard and the jets are standard too, I do smell petrol when starting the bike or when the bike has been running for a while, but I cant work out why or how its dropped to less than 100miles before the petrol light comes on.

Yes and no, as when she at temperature your able to smell the petrol more,

petrol smell believe it or not can mean its running lean!

But at idle is irrelevant as it will be when the bikes main jet is in use that could be causing the issue

Also check your oil level and keep an eye on it if its rising then you may have a stuck float in the carb which can leak fuel through the cylinder in to the sump.
