DannyD4vies91 Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 Hit a pot hole yesterday on my cbr made a nice little dent in my wheel! Tyre is all fine, no leaks and of yet! Really struggling to find a second hand wheel atm. Honda cbr600rr 2006. Found a few on ebay but all look damaged. Taking it somewhere today to see if it can be repaired. I'll try and get some pictures uploaded. Quote
Stu Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 Bugger! if its not leaking then the chances are it will be repairable Quote
DannyD4vies91 Posted February 15, 2020 Author Posted February 15, 2020 Thanks mate. I'll definitely check them out! Quote
Snod Blatter Posted February 15, 2020 Posted February 15, 2020 Do you know if the same wheel is used on other models? It may help you in your search. Quote
DannyD4vies91 Posted February 16, 2020 Author Posted February 16, 2020 Do you know if the same wheel is used on other models? It may help you in your search. I was trying to find out mate. Still on the search atm. I was hoping the cbr 1000 would be the same front but I'm not 100% sure it is. Cheers. Quote
eastanglianbiker Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 check local highways and council you may well be able to claim off them for a new wheel if the hole had been reported before and not fixed Quote
DannyD4vies91 Posted February 22, 2020 Author Posted February 22, 2020 Thanks for the advice! It's in central london so I will get hold of them Quote
fastbob Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 might be worth fitting an innertube? No , not a good idea . Quote
fastbob Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 The good news is that there are lots of firms that specialise in straitening alloy motorcycle wheels. I must admit that thought that alloy wheels couldn't be straightened but I think that this is just something that bike manufacturers say to cover their backs . Quote
skyrider Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 it could be worth ringing round to find out what can be done its got to be cheaper than a new wheel you would have thought Quote
stejack Posted March 1, 2020 Posted March 1, 2020 might be worth fitting an innertube? No , not a good idea . ok. just an idea Quote
