You did that wrong. A real biker would have been going flat out, hit the front of the tank, cartwheeled several times and then blamed the driver who was blindsided.

Going at a sensible speed and being able to brake in a safe distance - not bad, but no cigar.

True but I’m a survivalist. So no blaring of horns, Rev bombing or accelerating so I can post on YouTube.

Also stupidly I had planned for the unexpected and if necessary there was an escape route to the right to pull into.

To be fair the guy had difficulty seeing, he stopped instantly he saw me and acknowledged his “error” and I carried on.

It looks to me like the car may have overcommitted slightly but then came on the brakes.

Your defensive riding (and not speeding) helped a lot here to avoid an accident.
