Feel for you experience and knowledge says Safety glasses and cut resistant gloves, Arco, b&m and screwfix sell them cheap. Packs of 5 to 10s for under a £10.

Worst thing is that I actually have an equivalent pair that I did think I needed to wear 🤦🏼‍♂️

Got the gearbox out this afternoon, such a doddle with the cassette gearbox compared to a conventional set up.

Will replace the input shaft bearings, the one in the crankcase does feel a bit rough.

Got the bearings out of the crankcase, the smaller one is in a blind bore so borrowed a bearing puller from work. A little blast with the heat gun and it came straight out. Removed the output shaft seal housing, another hit with the heat gun and a couple of taps with a hammer and drift had him out. Will tackle the two in the gear cluster tomorrow night.

Did you buy it in store?

Is it tight? Because it will be give a fair bit.

You need to make sure you can't move it around at all, your cheeks need to be a bit squashed, but not uncomfortable.

I came back to biking and wasted money on a helmet that the guy in the shop said fitted perfectly, it turned out to be way too big.

No I bought it online but have had helmets in the past including quite a few mountain bike full face so knew how things should be.

I'm happy with it, especially the pin lock internal visor. I don't know when they were invented but they work amazingly. No amount of my sex offender breathing manages to fog it up

A very long time ago, legend has it that it was invented for such people by those people 😅🤡.

I’m a fan of pinlocks! Avoid touching it and or rubbing it, especially when wet! clean both sides with running water only,  shake off excess water and leave to dry naturally.

It did seem weird the helmet arrived with long tatty hair and a stick on cigar.

The final stage of the strip down, gear clusters pushed out and removed both bearings. The smaller bearing on the input shaft and the main output shaft bearing sound rough.

Got the card out and ordered 4 new bearings and gaskets from The Tuning Works, an RGV specialist supplier.

I don't know what I'm more impressed with....

You having the bottle to strip your gearbox, or, actually being able to remember how it all goes back together.

Thanks.

Ive owned the RGV for 11 years now, bought as a box of bits and had to assemble the engine from parts. I’ve had it apart a couple of times since, replaced the crank, pistons and had the barrels replated and another time to replace the gearbox output shaft.
Lots of photos help when stripping stuff like this, keeping it laid out in order, a compartmented box for fasteners and widgets and of course a workshop manual, genuine Suzuki in this case.

For context the Indian normally resides on the lift and takes a lot less shoving to move lol.

Did they run out of office chairs in the call center?

And before any possible incoming ban hammer swings my way it took a genuine 30 seconds+  as a car guy to remember an Indian was a manufacturer and not some poor chap he had locked up in his garage.

Apologies if we don't find said stupidity funny

The Abba stands connect at the swing arm pivot allowing many different bikes to be lifted by having different connecting bobbins available for different bikes.ZRXonlift.thumb.jpg.75aac63a9ecd8b49d7f23e02dd1480bd.jpg

They don`t have to be horizontal either lol.
