Simon Davey Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Good morning bikers It's -2 outside, so I left the heating on all night. I just turned it down a few degrees. If I didn't have the heating on through the night, it drops to 13 degrees in here. 1 Quote

Bender Posted March 2 Posted March 2 We ended our night out last night in a nice little bar under the Tyne bridge, got me thinking, we are fooking useless at building things that work and last. Half our major roads have faults, one is closed, one of our new bridges has faults before it's even fully open, the Victorian's would be laughing there socks of at us. Then we have things like the Tyne bridge designed with pencils and slide rules and held together with rivets. 8 Quote
Simon Davey Posted March 2 Posted March 2 (edited) That's a vey nice picture @Bender, you're obviously a bit of a Tog. Rivets though, rivets are hard work, and take time, which is why they use them less and less, which in turn is why nothing lasts..... I love seeing the odd YouTube videos of guys making and hammering rivets into big steelwork. Edited March 2 by Simon Davey 3 Quote

Grumpy Old Git Posted March 3 Posted March 3 Morning hall. I have now thawed out after the epic long weekend i'nt lakes. The throttle lock (cruise control) worked very well for the loooong motorway stretches. Some of the twistties on arrival were a bit too much for enjoyment. If you are going up there soon, most of the 'passes' are closed (damaged surfaces, repairs, etc.). 'The Struggle' is shut as is the Kirkstone Pass Pub, but the pass itself is open. Otherwise a great weekend visiting a 'long lost' friend - The three tags will be posted soon. Not many bikers about up there though and my friend does not ride. 3 Quote
