Fozzie Posted March 10 Posted March 10 Good morning! Been a while since an update, but I moved into my new house about a week ago. Still yet to post anything on socials. Mrs was away for the week on the Isle of Wight, so I did the move with a hired van myself. Got the place fairly tidy over the course of the week, and she saw it last night and was a bit emotional about it all. I was a different kind of emotional While sizing up the refit this place needs, I found that the previous occupier, a retired builder had done everything... Cheaply... The bathroom has tiles stick over the top of old tiles. There is 3 layers of wallpaper that has then been painted over in the downstairs area. A 40A MCB is supplying a 9.5kW shower via a 4mm cable. There is only one radiator on the back wall of the downstairs area, and another in the hallway meaning the living room and kitchen are unheated. The 2.5M wide window on a single storey extension has no lintel above it, nor does one of the kitchen windows, nor does the kitchen door. And the brickwork above is ready to fall out. I could go on, but the point is, I'm going to be busy for the next 12 months or so! 6 1 Quote

Popular Post Simon Davey Posted March 10 Popular Post Posted March 10 My afternoon didn't go so well. My little tractor got stuck in the boggy part of a paddock whilst I was spraying iron phosphate to feed the grass and kill the moss. No worries, it's much firmer just a few meters ahead, I'll pull it out with my pickup truck. Seems the 4WD light on the dashboard is lying. My friend is coming with a bigger tractor in the morning to pull them both out 2 8 Quote

In the nine years of being on this little farm, I've never needed one, until now. Maybe I should look for something manual, that doesn't require fitting. There's also a lot to be said for checking the 4WD works. I've actually towed a trailer with a tonne of wood through mud up to the sills, and also pulled a 32 tonne lorry that was spinning in mud. But feck me, when I really need it, it's not working. The truck hasn't sunk, it's just spinning on soft stuff. Edited March 10 by Simon Davey 1 Quote

Well I can't use them... I'm tempted to use a buttplug and superglue, but I'd be worried a sudden eruption would take out a nearby bird of prey. 1 3 1 Quote
