Just got an unused Gelert Camping stove for free as 'it does not work'.

After 30mins of figuring out what was wrong, another 15 dismantling, another 2mins to fix (bent arm thingy), another 30mins to figure out how the spring worked and get it positioned correctly, 6min to re-assembly = Fully functioning camping stove!

You still on the toilet though?

I was then, seeing as you ask, first visit of the day

I’m sick of sitting on the toilet. I’d happily make a Faustian pact with Satan to end this.

Octopus sent someone around with a tape measure. Despite being a 10yr old new build, they say we have to replace half our radiators and have other stuff done - turning the £500 online quote for a heat pump into £3000.

Well that made the whole decision making process a lot easier.

Bait and switch scammers.

Yup, low heat system so half the heat means bigger rads to get a chance of a slightly warm house, just turn the temp on your boiler for heating down to 30c and see how warm your current set up is

Also 10mm pipework is out, as is rads piggybacked off another rad

Our boiler has been on life support for three years and finally died at Xmas. At least I have a good idea of how insulated our house is - and how much heat an oven can produce.

Good morning :classic_biggrin:

We are happy campers! It wasn't too cold in our little campervan overnight and we had a good meal and a few drinks in the nearest pub

We don't really have a plan for today but we'll go explore a bit

Morning all. -2 this morning but it will warm up by the time I'm coming home.

So it's a two sets of gloves day. Heated going out, non-heated coming back.

(The insulation on the heated means they will be too warm even if switched off.)

Oh the dilemma of riding motorcycles!

My dear old mum asked me to buy some sausage rolls from the farm shop near us. I have discovered that if you transport sausage rolls in a motorcycle topbox they experience what Elon Musk describes as "rapid unscheduled dissesembly".

What were once very tasty looking sausage rolls are now a vast multitude of crumbs.
