dynax Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 Hi all, need some help choosing a suitable phone to run the afore mentioned app. I have a basic moblie phone which is all i personally need, what i want is a basic smartphone just to run Calimoto. My options are buy a sim free phone then buy a data only sim, or buy a PAYG phone and sim package. Through my searching the Calimoto app uses approx 1MB of data per 100 Kilometres (60 miles) in distance travelled, as this will be solely for Calimoto a 1GB data allowance will last 100,000 km or 60,000 miles. My question then would be can anyone recommend a service provider that offers a rollover allowance and a basic phone for no more than £50. Thanks. Quote
onesea Posted November 18, 2020 Posted November 18, 2020 I would buy a waterproof Second hand phone or Cubit Quest at about £110 (they are tough waterproof, I just extracted mine having dropped it from a van into another Puddle earlier today). Then look for SIM only deal for data. 1 Quote

Thanks. I see two options for SIM: 1. But a prepaid tablet SIM from 3. I did that, prepaid 60GB for 2 years - that is in my car. 2. Giffgaff. Their cheapest monthly (£6) win do what you need. Unlimited calls and 500G of data per month. As for the phone, I'm the wrong person to advise. 1 Quote
Bender Posted November 22, 2020 Posted November 22, 2020 I'm with Plusnet, they use ee and it's the best network where I live for going out in the sticks, phone as said probably cheaper buying used, if your wanting to keep monthly bill down. Quote

You take thousands of pounds from us and still try to peddle your used tat to those hard of thinking out here in peasant land. Now go and polish your Maserati and leave us peasants to our money saving ideas ! Cheers Ian 3 Quote
