Hi all back again for all your opinions got an er5 which has been abit of a problem child since I've owned it had loads of problems sorted out including new cylinder head and gasket, carb rebuild complete new starter and much more. Most have spent over 2000 on it in past year in repairs lol. But now got another problem with coolant coming out of cylinder head over flow hole im not 100% sure where it is leaking but seems to me its dripping onto the head n coming out of the overflow.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas I've changed the filler cap with another 2nd hand one (as couldn't find a new one) but still leaking, is there a chance head gasket has failed again? Or something little less serious

Is this since the cold weather ?

I presume you mean that its overflowing from the radiator overflow ? ( Pipe from radiator filling neck)

Pictures may help ...as cylinder heads don't have overflows

Where ( if fitted) is the temperature gauge reading when this occurs

How long has this Been going on?

Any previous coolant loss since repairs ?

Did it have Antifreeze in it ?

How long does it take to vent ?

Possible causes are

Thermostat stuck shut ( can be caused by coolant freezing and distorting the valve)

Water pump seized/ failed ( can caused by coolant freezing and bike started and snapping the vane shaft )

Cylinder head gasket blown/distorted due to coolant freezing...

are you sure its not coming up from where the thermostat housing enters the cylinder head? .. O rings could have failed!

Beat me to it Bob . Almost certainly leaking from the O rings around the two metal coolant pipes . Simple fix , replace the the O rings with GENUINE KAWASAKI ones . Anything else will either not be up to the job or the wrong size .

hi all cheers for the help once again had another proper look today and realised it was leaking out of the housing that connected onto the filler cap but luckily had a spare one so sealed it up with some instant gasket and there's no problems at all now, just gotta prey it goes through mot all ok tomorrow 🤞🤞
