Tattzie30 Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 Can anyone tell me if this looks suspicious? I was having some trouble with the barrel where i am having to wiggle the key in barrel to make the bike start. Looks like the 2 red wires have been cut! Thank you for your help Quote
Tiggie Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 I'd say cut as well. Years ago when my bike got stolen that was how I found all the wiring behind ignition, they had cut all the wires from the blocks and tried twisting together different ones to get it to start. Thankfully its not quite as simple as its made to look on old 80's films and I found it abandoned approx 10 minutes walk from my house Quote

If it hasn't got an immobiliser it is as simple as twist a few wires together and away you go...but don't tell anyone 1 Quote
Tattzie30 Posted March 8, 2021 Author Posted March 8, 2021 Thank you for the advice i thought that someone had tried to start it but was unsure! Would it be best to replace the ignition barrel? Glad you got your bike back. Quote
Tiggie Posted March 8, 2021 Posted March 8, 2021 Are there any loose or exposed wires where the connector block was located? I'm just wondering if someone has used an old block as a repair or similar at some point and it still had the wires in it. @WD40 I don't think whoever tried it on mine was very competent 1 Quote
Tattzie30 Posted March 8, 2021 Author Posted March 8, 2021 I think its a block they had as no loose wires. Taking it to the garage tomorrow ill give an update. 1 Quote

Mississippi Bullfrog Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 What I don't understand is that if the wires are cut how did wiggling the key make it start? Quote
