I took the Enfield out for a short run today, I stopped to put petrol in and didn't notice some spilled diesel, as I left the forecourt and stopped at the road, my left boot slipped as though it was on ice and if my toe hadn't gripped I would have been off.  I made sure I put my right foot down for the rest of the ride and I've cleaned the boot with meths so it should be OK next time but I will be more careful in fuel stations from now on.

It just shows how easily it is done regardless of how much experience we have got!

Glad you kept it sunny side up

You should make a complaint to the station.

If nothing else to keep them on their toes

In fairness to stations if you report a spill they will throw some sand or grit on it as a minimum but very few do inspections.

Glad you held it, I've had similar at a pump, it certainly wakes you up.

Always worth looking at ground beside the pump before you stop.

Some pumps seem to pass a little fuel into nozel, Past house end valve.

Which then gets spoilt on the ground if not help up right.  Car owners tend not to be as careful as bikers regarding spilt fuel.

I know at my local station which pumps are clean and dirty..
