billy sugger Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 As the title states, I now know what is wrong with my left shoulder. Apparently it is called supraspinatus tendonitis. The tendon that runs over the top of the joint runs in a groove can get damaged, and that's what has happened to me. Next step seems to be physio, but they need to get the swelling down first, though how they will do that, I've no idea as I'm already taking anti inflammatory drugs but they have no affect on swelling or pain. So another six months or more before it's sorted 1 1 Quote
MikeHorton Posted October 5, 2021 Posted October 5, 2021 Fingers crossed it soon begins to improve. I suffer with rotator cuff issues from time to time I had a physio who was great and I know what to do now to reduce any pain. Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted October 6, 2021 Posted October 6, 2021 Shoulder problems are painful, particularly at night when you're trying to sleep. I've had surgery on both shoulders for tendon problems. Thankfully both successful because beforehand it was a long period of pain and limited movement. Tendons will heal but they take a long time. husoi Posted October 6, 2021 Posted October 6, 2021 Being a great defender of natural treatments I would say to do some ginger patches. Get some fresh ginger (any supermarket) a grater and make a paste. make a thick (+5mm) layer over the painful area. Leave until either gets dry or about 30 min to 1hr depending on how long you can spend. If possible and to allow you to do other things, you can cover it with some cling film and use a bandage to hold it place. Repeat as many times as you want. Ideally you will repeat 1 or 2 days after the pain or swelling is gone. I know some people don't give this any credit but consider what you have to lose... 1 Quote
