Ainzley91 Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Afternoon, got myself my first bike, a cbf125, I’ve noticed that the petrol cap hasn’t got a rubber seal on it at the point it meets the body, I’ve googled pictures and some have them and some don’t? id of thought it’s needed to stop fuel splashing everywhere but is it a necessity? If so where could I source a seal please. I’ve looked on EBay with no luck, I may just be being stupid but help would be appreciated. thanks Quote
Fish Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Best bet would be to ask where you bought it from or a local Honda dealer. Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 Does it rotate to make a tight fit or is it loose and leaking? Quote
Ainzley91 Posted June 14, 2022 Author Posted June 14, 2022 I’ve not yet filled it to see if it leaks, and bought it private. im assuming it should have a seal on these bits Quote
billy sugger Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 No, that is a standard cap across the majority of cb and cbf Hondas. The seal is that big piece of rubber. It pushes upwards when you close the cap and push down on it to release the key Quote
MikeHorton Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 (edited) As @billy suggersays looks right the black bit in the cap is the seal Edited June 14, 2022 by MikeHorton Quote
billy sugger Posted June 14, 2022 Posted June 14, 2022 There you go, this is a spare from my cb500r, and it will directly fit my Cbf600sa8 Quote
