Guest akey
parafin fella, the mutts nutts and cheaper than any sprays I use it all the time.Use it first on the hard areas with a paintbrush, then use your normal cleaning routine to get rid of any residue. rosszx9r
gunk!been around years and cheap as chips from halfords. you can get a spray can of it too for those hard to reach places. just spray it on, rub with and old paint brush and then wash it off with water. jabcrosshook
I was thinking this the other day. What about some protection for the plastics etc?
Stu
paraffin should be fine on plastics if you have any doubts remove them some degreasers are a no no for plastics i was doing some repairs on a my lower fairings and all i had was some carb and choke cleaner i thought it wont hurt to spray a bit to clean the grease off made all the plastic go really soft so just left it to dry off and all was well plastic went hard again and never miss shaped
jabcrosshook
What about waxes and the such? My handbook suggests to use wax once you've cleaned it.

rollazuki
Dont get diesel near plastics(or rubber) It soaks in and makes them swell massively. Its a real problem.Dunno if paraffin and similar things do the same, but keep diesel off plastic.

workpeter
About to buy some Paraffin after reading this thread. Few questions:1) What part of the bike should I never spray this stuff on?2) How long do a let it soak for?3) How much water should I mix it with..for example... 4 parts water, 1 part Paraffin, or do I spray it on concentrate?
