We avoid cities but, for the sake of €4.61, I’d rather spend the money. Same apples for motorway vignettes for Switzerland and Austria. One wrong turning and an eagle eyed cop*… * I have experience of eagle eyed police officers, spotting a failed tail light on my car back in the days when the police were not underfunded and understaffed (1977, if you’re wondering). I think, we might get caught out when temporary zones restrictions are introduced at the discretion of the local authorities. I also come to realise, there are different criteria, permanent zones - Cities, large towns etc, but they have a list of other Cities that can introduce temporary zones. Like you say, for the sake of €4.61. I'd rather have it, than have not. 1 Quote

According to the rules any bike built before mid 2000 and any other vehicle built before 1997 is banned. Think about that for a moment. Quote Cars registered before January 1997 and motorbikes and scooters registered before June 2000 are ineligible, and cannot be driven at all where restrictions apply. 2 Quote

Think about that for a moment. They are thinking about an exemption for "Moto de Collection" This would be a bike older than 30 years and subject to certain restrictions. None of the restrictions look too difficult to get around though. I'll wait and see although I've no desire to enter any cities at all. Quote

Think about that for a moment. Bloody hell that's pretty high handed. Just as well it doesn't apply to rural France as they'd all be walking. 1 Quote
