I had a great ride home from Woodbridge this evening. Amazing scents hanging in the air - cut grass, mayflower. Being out riding on a warm evening is hard to beat.

Sure.  Carry on down the road until you come to the second chopped down average speed camera pole, turn left straight after it and follow that road for about a mile until you come across the burned out speed camera van, then turn right.  Black horse is on the right by the burned out gatso.

So you've been to Wiltshire then? Never seen so many torched gatsos as there. Shame Oxfordshire is so law abiding as its overrun with cameras and stupid 50 mph limits everywhere. Very Green though.

Took the Benelli TRK702 loan bike I have out for a spin. It reminds me of the Kawaskai KLE500 I had, light, fun, eager, but not ideal for long distances.

fosse way to Moreton then across to snowshill. Back to Stow then onto Daylesford across to bunkers hill near Kidlington.

then back home via Banbury.

Did you open the top vent? I can feel the airflow from that going over the top of my head a fair bit.

I don't find it too hot at all - just a little noisy. Putting the visor down creates more of a booming noise.

Indeed I did open the top vent. it was 29 degrees so I should be a little more forgiving.

Had a nice bike day today. Out doing an observed ride on the Explorer first thing. 

 

Off to a local music festival for the afternoon on the Thunderbird. Met the local bike club and got an invite to their annual rally. Back home via the Tap at Eastham.

 

Out to a friend's 60th this evening on the XJR. Still can't quite believe I wandered into a showroom and bought that days after passing my MOD2, much less that they sold it to me! It really is just a little bit nuts. But I'd forgotten just how much I love it. So much power, torque, character and, erm, noise (apologies to the neighbours, we were late getting home).

Hope you are all having a lovely day on your bikes. I am so jealous but still stuck at work. If any of you are riding round Cornwall particularly Liskeard/Bodmin/Tavistock area there's a Morrisons artic with a little old and withered bloke driving it. Seriously though have a great day and stay safe.

I really do think it's a good looking bike, very clean lines, and quite original looking for a cruiser.

Popped along to the bike meet/open day at R&C Motorcycles in Mildenhall (from where I bought the Strom), plenty of bikes of all kinds coming and going. Loud music, and Tracy cooking the most fabulous double sausage, double bacon, and fried egg bap!!

Whilst returning home this afternoon, I had to go via a local town centre. Outside the KFC, McDonold's and a couple of other fast food establishments, the nice boys and girls in blue decended on mass to check all those wonderful Deliveroo, Just East and other L plated moped riders.

 

I wanted to stay and see how many bikes were taken away, and how many they found to not have the correct insurance for providing such services.

It would be genuinely interesting to know. 

I wonder if that's supposed to be provided for them, or, if the riders have to provide their own mopeds/scooters, and insurance?

They have to provide their own insurance. I was talking to a kid who does it while having a tyre changed. I was quite surprised how cheap the business insurance was. Not much more than social and commuting.

Nice tootle out on the 175.  Of course it was to my favourite purveyor of bacon butties.  Around a 40 mile round trip.  Perfect for a sedate tootle in the sunshine. Sat and had a nice chat with a couple of the pilots, meanwhile big blue was attracting a lot of admiring attention and comments.

 

On the way there I had to have a word with myself.  I was sat on a lightweight enduro motorcycle shod with trials pattern tyres, not on the VFR with michelin road 6s.  My riding was getting quite "spirited" and I had the rear step out on a roundabout as I got the power on too soon as I saw the exit line opening up.

Lesson learned.  Ride it like it is a 1970s off road bike, not a modern road bike.
