AstronautNinja Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Sacrilege I know.  I can here the uproar and disapproval from my keyboard!  For those who don't know it's an electric crosser kinda thing, road legal in the spec I'd be getting.  So, my ICE bike is stored with a mechanic about 10 mins away and I'm thinking of getting one of these as a toy and something cool to ride 1. When I'm heading for a ride on the proper bike and 2. Something that I can use for some childish fuckery etc / stealth off roading due to its close to silent operation.  I don't have a garage and reckon this will fit in the apartment lift on its back wheel.  Figured I'd start a thread for shytz and gigz  Do feel free to voice your disgust in the fact I'm even considering something other than a dinosaur burning ve-hic-al.  The pros are imo...... 1. Silence 2. Zero smell / oil 3. Close to zero maintenance 4. Loads of mods available 5. Immediate full power 6. Earth rotating torque 7. Look cool  The cons 1. Range 2. Range 3. Lack of smell / oil 4. Range 5. Desirability for stabby stabby guys to steal it whilst I'm riding  May the flood gates of comments commence 2 Quote
RideWithStyles Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 (edited) Dont know why but we all probably knew you’d do it . Jokes aside As far as I’m concerned on a EV, if you buy it for the correct reasons and use case FOR YOU , while coping with its negatives with eyes wide open then all good. Edited August 27, 2024 by RideWithStyles 1 Quote
Mickly Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 Ridden by twats who have no regard to other road/pavement users. Also by those without the skill / intelligence to pass a proper test. Â 2 1 Quote

bud Posted August 27, 2024 Posted August 27, 2024 You have to wear a balaclava and carry a big pointy stabby thing to ride one. At least round here. 1 Quote

Mississippi Bullfrog Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 Close to zero maintenance?  Only because they get stolen before there's a chance of anything going wrong.  In reality there's a lot that can, and does, go wrong with these things. Quote

Belts will surely strip pretty quickly due to the hard life it gets. Much to do to the motor?  It'll be kept in my house so safe over night and I've paid my dues on road so not a problem sticking a vest on under my jacket unlike most young idiots Quote
Bender Posted August 29, 2024 Posted August 29, 2024 You will look like a right dick with a proper road registered one with a number plate and helmet and insurance, kids will right rip the proverbial Quote

AstronautNinja Posted August 29, 2024 Author Posted August 29, 2024 I have however just asked my storage guy on a price for 2 bikes, he's asking £110, I'm gonna try for £100 tomorrow and may well buy myself a proper enduro.  Suggestion thread incoming Quote
Mississippi Bullfrog Posted August 30, 2024 Posted August 30, 2024 Take a look at the service costs on those motors....and repairs costs when they go wrong. Pretty eye watering. 1 Quote
peepae Posted August 31, 2024 Posted August 31, 2024 The other day I was riding away from Asda and saw a group of em ride up on their surron's, after they saw me riding away, they started following lol, good thing it leads straight into the A27. Â They go up to speed very quick, seem like fun but every time I've seen someone riding it, I think I'm gonna get kicked off my bike. 1 Quote
