ChrisBiggsUK Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Just read a few articles about motorcycling and how it helps you get fit and lose weight, with studies showing you can burn up to 300 calories per hour while riding! Thats it! I'm telling my wife I'm off out for a bit of evening exercise. It is the truth! The internet says so!  So long portly middle aged frame, hello slightly less portly but still middle aged frame! 1 6 Quote
Simon Davey Posted February 17 Posted February 17 I'm glad you said "up to" 300, I reckon I must burn at least 30Â Â Seriously though, I'm always buzzing for at least two hours when I return from a ride out. I absolutely love it. 2 Quote
bonio Posted February 17 Posted February 17 My fitbit tells me I've been mountain biking when I've been out on the bike, and that I need to eats lots of ice cream and cheese to make up for the lost calories. Who am I to argue? 3 4 Quote

billysugger Posted February 17 Posted February 17 Try pushing it after finding out someone has nicked your fuel like me on the A6 to Kettering, halfway from Rothwell you'll definitely lose weight 2 1 Quote

Pushing 230 kg around isn't my idea of fun. 1 Quote
billysugger Posted February 18 Posted February 18 I was actually quite lucky, I'd just reached a part of the dual carriageway where there is a area of 3 or 4 houses and a barrier between them and the A6, a van driver had seen me pushing it so stopped and offered to take me to get fuel and bring me back to the bike- there are still some decent folk out there. The strangest thing is I could not figure out how my fuel got nicked in the first place. Not only was the cap locked it's fuel injection, so needs the pump running, but I definitely had a nearly full tank as IÂ filled up every 4 days due to work commute and this was a weekend and a regular top up day ready for a bimble 2 Quote
ChrisBiggsUK Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 Just got back from a vigorous morning 'workout'. Two and a half hours I was 'exercising'. I'm exhausted! Clearly a fat bacon sandwich is in order. 5 Quote
