This is true And depending on the tyres making them less square can be done! I had some that was pretty bad but took the bike on a fair few rides on a twisty road and the did become better but usually the damage is already done If you're worried about them then replace them as it will always be in the back of your mind

A mate has just sent me this pic below! Yes that chain has been welded! Some people should not be allowed near spanners! or welders! This is not my mates bike by the way So spill the beans whats the dodgiest repairs you have seen?
