Oh and as for one post wonders
Everything is vetted before you see it and sometimes we do make judgement errors and a spammer gets through.
A lot of the time we know who the one post wonders are going to be but we allow them as they could help others and it could also generate traffic to the forum via Google search etc
We need traffic which means we need posts and good content posts at that hence the motorbike news section with well written articles.... Well some of them

I tried to stop the what did you do to your bike thread to promote people to create a new thread to talk what they had done rather than it all getting lost in one thread! It fell flat on its face.
The trouble is a lot of us sit waiting for people to post instead of posting ourselves and that just gets us nowhere.
Forums aren't dead they are a valuable source of information that information just needs to be posted.
Good morning and weekend threads have their place in keeping general chat and banter together rather than it taking over every thread! We have had that before and it was a mess.
If you want things to change then it's you guys that have to make that change! Yes it can get repetitive talking about the same stuff to newbies but this interaction is what keeps forums alive!
Remember forums are only dead if you don't post

Heard of this happening a fair bit!
We have also had people join up posting about the same issue

First of all forget the gear indicator! Don't even bring it in to conversion as they aren't reliable enough to say your in gear or not.
The video showing you accelerating then the bike coming out of gear while still accelerating is more than enough evidence to say is jumping out of gear.
Once you are in gear it should not be jumping out and as for wearing in that's just utter bollox and a cop out from the dealer

That looks to me as though its jumping out of gear! which is shouldn't be doing

Cheap easy fix and no care about safety

Is it a Clarke or machine mart one I know they have form for cracking?
Neither!
although it looks the same this is an older one
I wouldn't be surprised if they are the same to be fair

@dynax You can see the crack that runs through the bolt!
I am taking it apart today and getting a bit of 10mm steel plate and will make a new top for it

Which part has cracked? Put up a picture it might be repairable
It's the top plate!
I will get a pic soon. It is repairable but it's a cast stove so not easy to repair
I have a plan though and hopefully I should be able to make a steel top for it

Why anyone would buy gloves off a facebook advert I will never know!
I would only ever buy online from a reputable dealer like Sportsbikeshop or buy going in store to a local store
There is a scary amount of fake/inferior quality "protective" clothing out there

Probably not relevant today but I think Honda's got a bad reputation because in the early days they never got overhead camshaft bearings right . The issues I know about occurred with the K 1- 5 series of twins and with some smaller bikes such as the CD / CB 175 etc . The camshaft was set straight into the head and the journal was split so that the top half ran in the cylinder head cover . For reasons unknown , people used to remove the cover and put it back on using gasket sealant and incorrect torque values . Result , knackered cam shafts and engines . With the CD/CB the camshaft ran in just two plain bearings , one at each end . Couple that with no proper oil filter and the general ignorance of first time buyers or ex Brit Bike riders and there is another recipe for failure . Then there was the " Chocolate Camshafts " fiasco with the VF engines . It turned out that they were turning faster than oil could lubricate them . ( Something like that ) These are merely personal experiences and things I've read but I've never been tempted to buy a bigger Honda for long term use .
Yet I have never heard of any of that!
At worst its just a bad rep from reg/rec's

Yeh it’s a joke , meant to be based on emissions , I got a 10 plate 1.6 diesel fiesta here zero road tax , so a bike is chucking out more emissions than that .
Bikes aren't based on emission's they are based on CC size
We don't want it on emissions as bikes produce more hydrocarbons than cars you would be talking about £500 tax
