    idle jumping

Tango Its still restricted in the carbs too so I dont think a rejet will really help to be honest as for the idle as Tango says check for an air leak
  2. Stu

    klr 600

or if its been stood it could just be condensation in the exhaust burning off and you may think its just smoke
  3. yeah it is a bit mad that your mind knows what to do before you even know what it is!! must have something to do with riding a push bike as a kid as everyone has done that
  4. No worries Rob I will add your name to the list anyway
  5. steering with your feet is a myth as you say But loading the pegs does work but not to actually steer the bike you need to move the bars too just loading a peg will not make it steer but it lowers your center of gravity making the bike turn tighter and easier to turn as you say the only way to make a bike turn is to counter steer I've heard some people say they don't do it before anything over around 15 - 20mph requires it you do it without even thinking about it Theres a difference between doing it and knowing your doing it and actively doing it By the way you do all know this is an old thread dont you? but its all still good for advice
  6. please keep to one thread it will be far simpler! http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/view ... =5&t=45914
  7. see here guys http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/view ... 12&t=45930
  8. Where The Crazy fox cafe Rutland water The crazy fox does not come up on google maps for those that don't know where it is you have to look for rutland cycling or use this link http://goo.gl/maps/uIUnd If the weather is crap it may be postponed till the 20th All welcome
  9. its not up to the mods anyone can make a decision but if you insist go with what you have just said seen as though its a cracking idea end of season meet at Rutland water 14/10/2012 if crap weather then 20th
  10. Two meets is a good idea Bob as i can only make the 14th anyway I will be hungover the weekend of the 20th/21st
  11. Ive gone for the 14th as i cant make any of the others at all!!
  12. A week yesterday I came back from spain and it was 32°c got off the plane here to 14°c Its just not fair
  13. Its £10 a wheel fitted and balanced to loose wheels round here! I can fit my own it is a pain in the arse I would rather drop the wheels and take them in everywhere round here is free fitting to loose wheels if you buy the tyres off them but balancing is extra usually about £3
  14. If the bolt is just spinning then stud extractor's will do nothing If there is a silver ish colour on the threads I think the sump has stripped
  15. You can balance a wheel at home with a wheel balancer but they cost a little more then 30 quid you would be looking at around 200 quid for all the right gear Then you ideally need an air compressor to pop the type bead on to the rim as it can sometimes take a lot of pressure I have seen some need 160Psi
  16. before you decide what to do i would check the sump and make sure its not the sump that has cracked as it will feel the same as a stripped thread trust me i know theres only two sumps on ebay and they arent that cheap either but looking at the ones on there they look easy to remove http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HONDA-VFR-800 ... 500wt_1055
  17. I think you will find it will be the sump thats gone as there is no captive nut the sump it threaded and made of alloy which is the softest part personally i would remove the sump and re tap it oversized if you have enough meat on the sump then fit a oversized plug you would probably be cheaper and easier getting a sump off ebay though
  18. not sure if this helps at all http://www.ronayers.com/Fiche/TypeID/26 ... /HANDLEBAR
  19. well even if the dealer one was plastic I would say it will work as the original one has probably been on since 1999 Usually they are all metal and the return cable is sometimes a plastic adjuster
  20. Stu

    loose ht lead

its a small price for peace of mind
  21. Is it a genuine one? if not I would send it back and go get a genuine one
  22. i have sent you a pm moo
  23. yes its gone through but you have paid too much!! its 15 each for the weekend so 30 quid and you have sent 60
  24. pretty small list done most its part of learning had the back slide out a few years ago coming in to a corner I somehow dropped one gear too many and it slid and went sideways and stayed like it all the way through the corner! It felt great and controlled even though it was a pure accident! but wont be trying that for a long long time pulled a couple of wheelies by accident but pull them when I want now the most recent one was the full bike sliding sideways thanks to a nice big patch of gravel
