as tim says try warming it up use a blow torch if you can to get direct heat on to the stud

Little tip for ya.
Measure twice and all that, make sure adjusters are wound fully in, and fit the chain. Dont use the rivet link, but a removable link, with a fishtail clip.
Everyone will be now, but listen on.
The strength is in the sideplates, not the clip or rivet, so the strength is the same. The clip must face closed end in the direction of chain travel, but heres the science bit.......
Get some setting silicon sealant. Preferably in a red or blue or similar bright colour.
Bung some degreaser on a rag and wipe the sideplate and clip.
Smear silicon all over it and make it look neat and tidy, but fully covered.
You now have an easy to fit, easy to remove chain that is completely safe. My last bike made 200bhp+ on nitro, ran on a Regina chain linked in this way, and had NO issues.
Saves on worry, and a chain riveter.
sorry i dont agree with this
you may have had 200+bhp going through it and yeah it worked for you but it doesnt work for everyone
my zxr400 had a split pin on the chain then when i did my chain and sprocs i was looking for it to remove the chain and it had already gone walkies!!! and the side plate was just holding on
personally i would use the right tools and the proper link
-
i would drop an email of complaint to them about it and a copy to honda too you never know you might get some free vouchers or something
there is something wrong somewhere and will come back again
it will be a bad connection

see this on a regular basis in my job
i was pulling out of a bus stop the other night looked in my mirror and saw there was a car really far back when im moving off i always keep an eye on the right mirror and while i was moving out the same thing happened to me
ped rider in gutter inline with the cars headlight
so not only was he out of view of my mirrors untill i started to move off but he was right in the gutter infront of the car headlight and looked part of the car
lickily it was a more senior person riding the ped and held back to let me out anyway if it had been a chav he/she would have just carried on at full throttle to try and beat me as they always do

2008 so still in warrenty

pete247 was right
its carb icing
you can buy a fuel addative called proFST which will cure it
will only do it on cold days
-
when you get some and try them you WONT like them
but keep using them you WILL get used to them and wont be able to ride without them
so much better with them
-
The best ones I have used by far are the soft (almost dayglow!) green foam ones (I think they are Motrax - but might be wrong!)
same as the ones i use
-
you WILL lose some of your hearing

Yeah but if the clutch plates were sticking together it could be unavoidbly almost stalling the engine.
if the clutch plates where sticking together there would be permanant drive

Hi
I have noticed that over the last couple of days only sometimes when I pull away in first and sometimes also in second and even with a warm engine that the
engine is holding back a bit and then all of a sudden a burst of speed. Its annoying when it holds back and then a shock when it suddenly moves.i think that give it away that its not a clutch problem
the engine wouldnt hold back if the clutch was slipping the engine would just rev sky high
-
possibly carb icing?
hmmm i cant really see it been carb icing as this usually just kills the engine
does it do it after you let off the throttle from a constant speed then go back on the throttle ?
or just random
-
a good clean may help
but sounds to me like it could do with setting up on a dyno with the right jets and needles
-
same goes for plates, exhausts etc, they tend to be fine, but can be used to add up if your caught for anything more serious..
you cant get points for a visor, plates or exhaust either
another note if you wear sungalsses its legal until you lift your visor up as its not E marked eye protection

RST are good and crash well too
-
what would you rather do look out ouf place or be safe ?
i know which i would choose
i see people wearing leathers on peds round here
-
dont touch frank thomas they fall apart
RST, hein gericke, Arlen Ness are good leathers
alpinestars are too over priced for what they are IMO
