  12. a lot of us have days off during the week and work weekends
  13. wear away slowly i think they wear away a bit too quick for Dans liking
  14. if so buy it before the 1st december as they are putting the prices up by around £40 a lid
  15. have i missed something has the new battery drained whilst been ridden ?
  16. oh aswell as a bad earth it could also be a faulty reg/rec breaking down when it gets warm
  17. like i said good luck its took me hours to find electrical problems before but worth it in the end even done it in the pissing rain!!!!
  18. stip the bike and check the wiring thats the only way really have you got a multimeter ? you could do a contonuity test on the loom i suspect it will be the main earth strap actually it could also be the main live cable too check that aswell i had a bike before where a cable had worn through and water got in and corroded the wire my headlight would work on low beam fine but put it on high and the cable couldnt carry the extra power
  19. get digging you have a bad earth good look
  20. hmmm not really heard of many probs with it been on a side or on a slope is yours fuel injected or carbs ?
  21. dont forget the charging system is also running all the bike electrical circuit aswell as trying to charge the battery once the battery is fully charged the bike just runs off the charging system and any excess is disparsed as heat from the reg/rec
  22. it can take around 15 mins at 4000 rpm to get a battery back to its original state it was before you hit the starter and when in the cold you need more juice to crank over an engine so i wouldnt be surprised as by the time 15 mins comes he could already be at work my dad land rover does it in the cold he only goes around 5 miles a day and every 3 or 4 weeks he has to top the charge up its great after a long run though
  23. have you got power in the garage? if so get yourself a optimate charger and connect it everytime you park your bike up otherwise you will be buying yourself a new battery sooner rather then later as for the starting issue you have a cold arse bike
  24. give chain a damn good clean then stick some oil on it go for a quick ride to work it into the chain clean bike as its shitty out there then re-apply some oil
  25. you dont need a new chain if its got a bit of rust on you will find its probably just surface rust have you got and old engine oil ? give it a right good coat before you go away
