  5. its not that its too big the down pipes are just full of rust and by the time you have taked them back to good steal then they will be too thin to weld it would just blow holes everywhere
  6. does it accelarate smoothly ? if it judders in time with the banging it could be gearbox problem
  7. i wouldnt touch that with a welder it would just be a waste of time
  8. you should have asked them your not sitting and waiting for them to finish it are ya

    rear brake switch

cos if he is a cheap skate like me he will put the £6.93 in the petrol tank they can be a pain depending on which type you have

    rear brake switch

common problem with these switches its time to pull it apart and clean all the connections inside the switch mine has done it on every bike i have owned then adjust it so its spot on
  13. sorry vick bike is still off the road but i have the parts just need to find time
  14. your more then welcome to borrow my gauges if you want them ED i will try and get some vacuum hose for them this weekend then they are ready
  15. i have to buy some new vacuum hoses for them first then we can sort something out
  16. dip stick!!!
  17. mind your only in leeds its not that far could meet sometime and lend you them oh and no there isnt loads of tiny bits inside if vicki can do it im sure you could manage it
  18. nah dyno runs are for every bike they check how it is fuelling across the full rev range and can adjust all the needles and jets to suit for a strip clean and balance i would say no more then about £120 but if you get the carbs stripped cleaned balanced and set up on a dyno it will be a lot cheaper and also a lot cheaper if you do the cleaning and balance yourself shame your not closer i have a set of guges you could have borowed
  19. is this the thanks i get for doing some good work on your bike just you wait
  20. it might be worth looking around too to see if there is a local place that can do you a dyno run and tell you what really is happening well worth the 20 - 30 quid they chatge just for the run a full set up can cost upto £200 though but that is money well spent if you are keeping the bike
  21. you got a after market pipe on ? and when was the last time you changed the air filter ? oh also look for the exhaust blowing anywhere
  22. not for me my bike is still off the road but not for long i have my water pump seals so just need to fit them
  23. nah balancing really only affects the low rev range of a bike to be honest how does it idle ? is the rev counter needle nice and steady or up and down ? might be shite in the carbs
