  3. it "might" be the overflow on the carb which "could" mean the float hight needs setting i dont really know much about the bike to be honest
  4. i think rennies bike is a 96? fireblade i dont think they had the HISS then

  8. remember you only loose 2 years NCB not all of it so if your old like rennie who probs has 20 million years i dont think it would make much difference just means you have a claim against you and the cost of excess which could probably pay for it

as tim says try warming it up use a blow torch if you can to get direct heat on to the stud
  13. sorry i dont agree with this you may have had 200+bhp going through it and yeah it worked for you but it doesnt work for everyone my zxr400 had a split pin on the chain then when i did my chain and sprocs i was looking for it to remove the chain and it had already gone walkies!!! and the side plate was just holding on personally i would use the right tools and the proper link
  14. i would drop an email of complaint to them about it and a copy to honda too you never know you might get some free vouchers or something there is something wrong somewhere and will come back again it will be a bad connection
  15. see this on a regular basis in my job i was pulling out of a bus stop the other night looked in my mirror and saw there was a car really far back when im moving off i always keep an eye on the right mirror and while i was moving out the same thing happened to me ped rider in gutter inline with the cars headlight so not only was he out of view of my mirrors untill i started to move off but he was right in the gutter infront of the car headlight and looked part of the car lickily it was a more senior person riding the ped and held back to let me out anyway if it had been a chav he/she would have just carried on at full throttle to try and beat me as they always do
  16. 2008 so still in warrenty take it back on a trailor so its stone cold and show them what its doing by the time you get there it will be all warmed up and the missfire has dissapeared how many miles are on the clock ? ps pop in newbies and introduce yourself
  17. pete247 was right its carb icing you can buy a fuel addative called proFST which will cure it will only do it on cold days
  18. when you get some and try them you WONT like them but keep using them you WILL get used to them and wont be able to ride without them so much better with them
  19. if the clutch plates where sticking together there would be permanant drive
  20. i think that give it away that its not a clutch problem the engine wouldnt hold back if the clutch was slipping the engine would just rev sky high
  21. hmmm i cant really see it been carb icing as this usually just kills the engine does it do it after you let off the throttle from a constant speed then go back on the throttle ? or just random

    GS500 carbs?

a good clean may help but sounds to me like it could do with setting up on a dyno with the right jets and needles
