  1. After several replays of the video, I still have no idea. I can hear the tappets quite nicely though. I wish I knew the engine build, but it does sound like something like a cam chain is slacking/slapping a little.
  2. Beautiful country to ride around. I used to love driving up the west coast and through the hills, never been on a bike though.
  3. Good luck Kelv, you'll be our resident brake expert by the time you're finished.
  4. Have to admit, indoor electric motocross seems like a great idea. Nice looking bikes too, and that picture of the Honda is excellent photography.
  5. Me too, I use wipes, and it's surprisingly, quick, easy, and effective. There are obviously places I can't get to, but I'm not sure I'd want to be pointing a hose into those places anyhow.
  6. I've no idea, but I'm following with interest. However, is the sound the same at increased engine speeds, or does it change? Is it constant, or intermittent? Can you "feel" the sound if you put your hand on any (not burning hot) part of the engine?
  7. Yes, if you use enough, you won't be able to see the moss
  8. I had a six-into-one pipe on a nice old bike once, it didn't feel right, and I could just tell there was too much back pressure. I removed the single baffle and drilled the heck out of it, then put it back. Fantastic difference, but still with the visible baffle, and still had the necessary kite mark on the can. I also knew someone in my youth that would switch exhausts just for the MOT.
  9. That's a great looking machine, I love the classic rounded look, which is probably why I have the ZZR in the shed. You've got me reminiscing about my 1999 ZX6r, that could be slapped about, and in and out of anywhere. I used it to commute from north London to the city, I did so many unintentional wheelies getting away from the traffic lights, I must have looked like a right tosser. Until a minicab decided otherwise.
  10. As it happens, I removed my risers bars (cable tension) and went to my local bolt shop. Just needed 4 off M8 Allen bolts, proper chuffed to be offered stainless as well as alloy or steel.
  11. Strewth! Glad to see they used stainless
  12. Good to hear good news, glad it passed.
  13. If you weren't taking your test, you would have done as we all would, and joined at a higher speed to match the traffic, and been a safe rider for doing it. There's no judgement here, and joining a forum to ask the question shows great responsibility and the right way of thinking.
  14. Welcome to the forum. Without even seeing the video, it's pretty cut and dried. If you can't join the main carriageway at the correct speed (for whatever reason) you have to stop until it's safe to do so. Causing another vehicle to brake heavily (that vehicle's speed is irrelevant) is deemed as unsafe. If the examiner didn't know of the temporary speed, fair enough, but if he/she did, then they're a bit of a _ _ _ _ _ _ _ for taking you that route. Don't be a stranger, stick around the forum and keep us updated about what you're doing
  15. Welcome to the forum. I imagine spares for any old machine would be tricky to find.
  16. This will sort your moss out. It's no longer classified as a herbicide, so the description can't state that it will kill moss. That does mean you don't need any qualifications to use though. https://www.agrigem.co.uk/product/ferro-gem-liquid-iron-10l/
  17. Whaaaaaaaat, it's dry?
  18. When I was kid, my nearest motorcycle dealer (there were so many in the 80's) was a Triumph dealer. I used to stare at the Tigers through the window, but never had the bottle to go in and see the bikes, just because I was only 12 (ish). That's a lovely looking Trident, and of course, wouldn't look out of place now, especially when there are so many retro looking machines being built.
  19. I love singing, but apparently, it's really bad
  20. As above, I'd like to go, but it's a bit early to tell yet, but having seen a YouTube vid (who was that?) it looks like a good crack. Depends if I'm in Europe at the time.
