  1. @RideWithStyles & @S-Westerly Many, many thanks, this is what forums are about. Cheers
  2. Could it be the low 26 psi pressure on that picture?
  3. Oh right, I imagine I'll need a pair, as they were both new before I bought it. Thanks for keen eye. Do you think it's from sitting in the corner doing nothing?
  4. Me neither, but I've only ridden it in the wet, only time it was dry was when it was -1, so I thought it was twitching on ice.
  5. The tyres have very little wear, but were sat for over a year before I bought the bike. Michelin Pilot Road . The arse end....
  6. I'm desperate to get out again now, might even go out in the rain probably not though
  7. Now, I'm of an age that I'm happy to be honest, and accept that this honesty may lead to judgement and possibly being called a to**er etc. As per my recent mentioning on other threads, I've found some frustration with my cornering as I've had to correct my steering a couple of times per ride. (wobbly wobble). @RideWithStyles and a couple more of you suggested checking tyre pressure. I promised myself that I'd buy a gauge, but I also thought to myself "I only bought it in December, surely they would have ensured it was safe and roadworthy"? Nope..... Bought a gauge today. 12 PSI front, and 26 in the back! Owner's manual says 42 front and rear when cold. All this wet road riding I've done, it's just as well I've been cautious. So thanks for the prompt guys, you've probably saved my neck.
  8. I used to dive, and that pressure can be nasty if you can't clear it, I can't even imagine the pain of a sinus actually bursting.... Ooooooowwwwwwww
  9. Well, it's 12:57, probably just finishing that lot about now then
  10. Hi Dave, and welcome Nice looking bike, and handy that it came with a Monolock rack.
  11. That's such a brave thing to do! How many pancakes from 5 gallons?
  12. Halfords were closed, I must have just missed them at 18:10 I couldn't get the panel clip I needed to replace my indicator, so I'm sulking because I can't go for a ride tonight...
  13. Good luck with the grading. Can you imagine how good the biking is in Oz...
  14. Good afternoon. It is indeed, as this afternoon I took the opportunity to test the cab of this little old telehandler that we bought, and yes, I can confirm it's good for a half hour snooze
  15. So much gravel. I hope to get out tonight, and I'm going to stick to main roads. There's a nice road from Haverhill to Bury St. Edmunds that has some lovely open sections with big sweeping bends, and it'll be dry.
  16. Yesterday. Went to see my folks, only 20 mins each direction and being fed up with the weather, I decided it would have to be the bike on wet country roads. Flippin eck, despite the wet, I was telling myself that a 236kg bike with 100kg Simon on top had enough weight to produce some good traction. Still with a nervous wobble here and there, I was putting it nicely onto those pothole strewn corners and starting to get pretty confident.. Until I round a bend and on that bend is a proper flood! Strewth, I actually kept my head, took into account that I was travelling at a sensible speed, brakes on whilst remembering I was still leaning and went straight through the water. Huge splash over the fairing and me, and luckily nothing into the air ducts. Carried on rather pleased that I'd handled the situation and so, still upright. Turns out my waterproof trousers and jacket kept me dry and warm. Didn't have much time, but on the way home I realised I was was sitting up as straight as possible and that was half my trouble with my handling, I started to relax and bend my elbows, which I could immediately feel gave me better cornering control. Need to get a panel clip from Halfords later, then I might go for another ride tonight.
  17. Thousands of miles, several bikes, and 40 years later, I had no Idea about counter steering until now
  18. Watching the video, there is no argument.
  19. That's a good idea, I've been looking already. I've had bikes my whole life, but after a 23 year break, and nothing but wet roads, I'm not feeling it. Came home buzzing like a 10 year old though.
  20. One hour ride per month for the last three months, and I'm still a bit wobbly. This is mostly fear of the wet greasy country roads.
  21. Finally, over a month later and I gave up waiting for the dry weather. With the spoiler in the revised position, as suggested, it makes quite a difference. It's not amazing, but for less than £20 I I'm really pleased with it. Thanks for the advice good people.
