  1. The Excel in london one you can.. loads of models to take photos of.. and bikes to!
  2. It's only supposed to be a "stepping stone" it stands for "Compulsory basic training" (if i spelt that right) It stands to reason you'll need refreshing on the skills as it's not a full on "test" it's just training. and if the instructor is happy they give you a certificate.
  3. @Jamesrb90 It's a small tube shaped camera, Average quality tucks away nicely. If i can't sell it i'm just gonna mount it on the bike somewhere see if i can get some neat footage =D
  4. Did mine on the same bike =) Though i got a heavier bike haha riding a bandit 600 half faired which weighs a lot but i don't mind to much cause im a big guy =)
  5. You can also get rid of your L-plates to
  6. and based on that response.. you didn't actually watch it. for more than a few seconds. did you? because if you had of done.. you would have read his addendum added to the video 3 months or so after he published it. If I can get one cheap enough.. i'll have it. I'm a bit of a cheapskate me. I gave up spending big on photography when I retired my old leica. Did you want to buy the one im currently using? Only cost me £34 you can have for £20 + P&P ? Got some videos on youtube if you wanna see quality.
  7. There just the one theory test =) And like the CBT it only lasts 2 years. Contact a bike training company and they will arrange training. But to do the DAS it is on a 600CC motorbike so you'll likely get trained for mod 1 (google to see what its about) and then take test and same for mod 2. Mine cost me £500 but that included the theory. So that includes theory Mod 1 Mod 2 bike (fuel insurance etc) and practice time. Ring around and get a good price =)
  8. Looking on amazon about £150 and i have an SD card spare anyhow so its not a heavy cost really =) I find my current camera is a bit naff its alright but its hard to make things out and the sound isnt good. but for £30 im not gonna moan to much =) Gonna keep it for paintball/kayaking
  9. Check race visors out for pinlocks they're very good =)
  10. Cheers =D Thats a wicked video gonna watch more later but i think i'm settled on a drift now.
  11. Does anyone use a Drift HD (Not the ghost) ? If yes anyone got some footage i want to see the camera quality.
  12. Hah. I'm working on similar stuff mostly making spreadsheets though. Can get quite dull i often doze off myself.
  13. As far as i understand it. CBT lasts for 2 years allows you to ride a bike up to (correct if im wrong) 12BHP. After 2 years you have to re-take the CBT to carry on riding. You can do a full license in several ways, taking 2 theory test then getting A1(17) or A2(19) license will allow you to ride a 125(without license running out like CBT) and standard motorcycle of 35KW of power. Or you can take the DAS at 24, in which case you do your CBT>Theory>Mod1(Manouvers in a closed area)>Mod2(Riding around a town) and you can ride any bike unrestricted this gives you license category of A Hope this is helpful / what you wanted to read =D
  14. Agree with above. 600 is more steady, Less knocking about with wind. Thicker tyres (usually). In my case a better riding position. Aswell as speed without having to go up all your gears =)
  15. Sorry to hear At least it's the cheaper portion of the tests? =D As said above learn about counter steering. My instructor told me to get to speed then push hard on the bars to tilt the bike and move it around then hard tilt back and i never hit that cone. Ask the instructor. Make sure you also practice the other parts don't get over confident because you've passed them once and end up passing teh swerve test and failing a different part!!
  16. Have some tips! Have at ye! Easy way for your figure of eight is keep revs fairly high. and toggle the clutch if you're going to fast gently rear brake but lock your right hand in place so you're not jumping all over. Make sure you're looking where you want to go. Once you get the the middle point of the -->"8" turn your head the complete other way and the bike will naturally turn that way. I practice for 10 minutes straight at one point i was fine. Also the slalom part just before. don't look at the cone you're passing. looking at the next one if you look at the ground you're gonna hit the ground. Keep the bike in second never bother with third. Second allows you better power without the wild side of first gear which can be jumpy (Use this on the speed test and emergency stop etc). on the really slow manouvers use first (IE U-turn, slalom, figure of eight) Most important, Be calm. If you're not sure what the instructor means ask him they're happy to clarify things, Also have a little chat with them before hand They're usually bikers like you and me making them think you're a decent chap by having a proper conversation. not some oik about to go ragging it everywhere at 100mph. I saw some right idiots at my test center dressing in their jeans and hoody with a just about held together leather jacket.. Going onto another point wear decent looking gear that is protective. If you turn up looking scruffy they may refuse to take you out. GOOD LUCK!! =)
  17. The anus face who on my ride out the other day slammed on his brakes causing me to emergency stop on my fairly new tyre. I left 2 types of streaks in the road..
