  1. =D So whens the full test booked?
  2. So this is where you posted =D
  3. Seems odd they dont supply the gear..? Mine gave me a jacket gloves and helmet, Just told me to wear jeans (or something similar) and boots of some description. Double check before you buy something. Also dont waste money on something cheap as you'll be stuck with a useless jacket. Better off buying a good one now and saving some £££
  4. Did my practice on one weekend. 6 hours saturday and sunday on the bike. Then took my test following tuesday and did 2 hours before and passed first time 2 minors. What ever works for you though might need longer =)
  5. Don't buy chinese =D
  6. Bit of a gross one.. Will put in spoiler blocker incase you don't want to see it =D I was tickling my sons feet the other day, and my wife started to scream something at me.
  7. Took it off. gave the visor a clean. and the pinlock a wipe over and refitted so we will see how it goes. Sorry stu my bad !
  8. I know this topic has been posted before. But i already use a pinlock in my lid. It's worked fine for the most part a little misting on edges. But today it got really fogged up i almost couldn't see through it. Has anyone had this problem / Have a solution? Was thinking of taking it off and cleaning it but not sure if that would do anything.
  9. I found that. My cheap one always let the air in. Got cold real quick, aswell as soaking up the water. My new one (only £150) is so much better. I don't feel the cold. It keeps me dry. The air just feels like it's hititng me and going around not through! =D

    Chain Lube?

I use chain cleaner get all the gunk off and a grunge brush. Make it nice and clean again. Then apply liberally muc-off dry chain lube. spin wheel several hundred times. Seems to be alright so far.. I tend to do this every 400miles or so.
  11. Got mine about 1 1/2 weeks to 2 weeks. Had instructor send it off straight away.
  12. Don't scrimp on it. You'll regret it. I bought a cheap jacket and it let water through straight away.. Goretex is generally the only REAL waterproof stuff. Other bits are good but it depends on cost. I just carry a set of waterproofs under my bike seat so if it's awful i can either put them on as i leave work or if its bad while im out pull over. Btw i have a one piece waterproof a friend gave me. It doesn't fit me so if you want to PM me how big you are and are willing to pay postage you can have it.
  13. NotD is me. Riding down the A12 about 70 on way to visit my grand parents. Suddenly bikes rev counter in corner of my eye dips and jumps back up as im cornering. Pull over. Seems fine. Carry on to langham road and at the T junction the engine is revving VERY low. then despite my efforts cuts out. I manage to start it again, and ride the 2 miles to my grandparents house before it clicks to me. Why would the power dip and rise.. and the engine randomly cut out... Simple answer
  14. This made me cringe =D
  15. Aww hell yeah! I'm there!! Can't miss out this year no excuse. Guess i'll have to get a pannier to load all my junk in haha! Will pay you in a couple weeks on pay day =) Both days.
  16. Hmm. I feel like i should get one i ride down the A12 everday so likely someones gonna rear end me or knock me off.. Have space in my jacket so will look into this!
  17. Think i remember you or someone else mentioning it actually. I checked it seemed alright, evidently not ha. WIll have a tinker on saturday see if i can spot where its going wrong =) Gotta do maintenance on chain etc anyhow.
  18. Adjusted the height of the lever as it was to high. Will have a little play around see what i can find.
  19. Noticed this morning my brake light is staying on permanently. After a quick investigation it's the rear brake thats doing it. my dad sprayed some stuff (WD40? didn't see) but still doing it. so i left it disconnected Can anyone suggest anything to look for? Otherwise i'll just go digging around on saturday with my haynes manual
  20. Worth checking out. Can get mugged off but as stu said can get some bargains. I got a pair of decent kevlar jeans for about £35.
  21. Been out quite a bit recently (unfortunately bike was in shop all weekend with oil leak) Getting better and more used to the weight of the bike. Might try music in one ear. I like classical anyway so thats often calming. Unless i listen to "in the hall of the mountain king" haha.
  22. Top banana! Well done =D
  23. Asshat on the A12 colchester avenue of remembrance turn off. Mercedes in outside lane suddenly realising he needed... no MUST ABOVE ALL ELSE.. turn off at this junction and swerved infront of a lorry and myself jumping over the divider nearly causing 2 crashes. N.O.B
  24. You going out on the bike before the test right? Even for an hour just to make sure you're comfortable and everything is good to go. Make sure you go through some of the worst junctions around the area if you have time.
  25. If the examiner asks your to pull over. Do your checks and make sure it's safe. ie not opposite an entrance to an industrial yard (woops) or round a blind corner. Just be calm. Focus and don't go to fast. Ride reasonable speed and safely he(or she) wants to know you can ride independent safely. Good luck hope you pass! =D
