  1. My point was that good riding (advanced or not) trumps loud pipes where safety is concerned.
  2. May I suggest that anyone who thinks the loud pipes are somehow safer, goes on an advanced riding course if you want to be safer.
  3. It never takes long to descend to the gutter
  4. Work on it in a plastic bag so you don't lose the ball.
  5. Some years ago I bought some cheap comms from Ebay, they were rubbish sound quality was awful volume was terrible. Anything over 40 Mph and I couldn't hear anything. Buy cheap buy twice
  6. That's my point if the side stand switch wasn't getting exercised it might have stuck.
  7. It might be worth having a look at the side stand switch to make sure it's not sticking.
  8. I am sure leaning on the bike is very different to leaning on the scooter.
  9. I seem to remember somewhere in the dim and distant, reading something about restrictions on learner drivers. It may be only certain ferry companies and maybe not the ones that run to Northern Ireland.
  10. Do they allow learner drivers on ferries?
  11. If I want to be cold and wet I'll go swimming
  12. Just waiting patiently for the package to drop through the letter box
  13. Too much bike not enough skill.
  14. It's good you got something from it. As I've said in other threads, advanced training won't make you worse.
  15. I am old enough to have ridden without a helmet legally, although it was a very rare occurrence, maybe if I was nipping to the local shop (about 1/2 a mile) Other than that always wore a helmet. Now I wouldn't ride ever without one.
  16. Did you feel that you gained from the experience?
  17. The ice cream I can appreciate, roads with grass in the middle not so much
  18. Maybe he found some riding buddies at Squires
  19. OP has gone quiet.
  20. Welcome in. I prefer Squires midweek, it's too busy for my liking at weekends.
  21. When I was looking around the bikes with the highest payload rating was the BMW K12/13 GT with a payload capacity of 268 KG Edit: that should be 238 Kg
  22. Believe it or not the Goldwing only had a carrying capacity of 190 Kg. You may have to buy a bike you like and have it sprung to suit. Oh and by the way 20 Stone is 127 Kg.
  23. I have also been more than once I had to go back to see if it was really as bad as I thought, it was
  24. What is the lead time on the snoods?
