  1. No need to be so formal, Rae will do nicely
  2. Hard to tell from the photo but is that a redundant mirror mount on the left bar? Ram Mount sell a mirror mount. Or you could take a look at Bob Telfers site for a steering nut mount. http://www.telferizer.com/
  3. Hello leener I too used to be on GBBikers with Sue and Andy and attended a few events. Welcome aboard.
  4. My wife would have a fit if she thought I was taking her along a road like that. To be honest I'm not sure I would be keen on my own
  5. I have a set of Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) screwdrivers but quite often change the fasteners where possible to hex or allen.
  6. You might find that it's just an ordinary car boot sale in the car park.
  7. I have the Tomtom 410 and it's good in the sun. If it's a bright sunny day and the sun is directly on the screen the visibility is reduced but still readable.
  8. If you cant find anything to fit at JTS it doesn't exist, it's worth a ride down. https://www.jtsbikerclothing.com/
  9. You are more than welcome, glad to have you along. Do you have a name other than Ingleboo?
  10. No need to be so formal Rae will do nicely
  11. I'm sure tigger004 meant to include a link so here it is http://calimoto.eu/en/
  12. Bikers Gear stuff is cheap for a reason, it's cheap. I've had some of their gear and it was rubbish, so never again for me.
  13. Yummy Yorkshire Ice Cream http://www.yummyyorkshire.co.uk/
  14. If anyone is attending this event either for the stop over or just for the ride please let me know so that I can keep track of numbers.
  15. Also the Google map is just an indication of the route, Google maps doesn't allow you to put enough waypoints to accurately represent the actual route.
  16. The reason for the Shipton Lane part of the route is for a comfort break at McDonalds. I know the area pretty well, but thanks for the heads up.
  17. I have organised an East Yorkshire weekend for the EuroKClub and would like to extend an invite to TMBF members. Date: 19/20 May 2017 Location: Premier Inn Beverley Town Centre. The idea is to turn up on Friday have an evening meal and a few drinks. Saturday ride out of about 150 miles including lunch and coffee stops. If the overnight stay is not your thing then you are more than welcome to just turn up for the ride or part of the ride. You can find full details here http://www.eurokclub.bike/index.php/topic,2028.0.html Stu this is almost on your doorstep
  18. I think tour companies have a place in the market. I employed a tour company to book hotels and plan routes for me the very first time I wen to Europe and after that I did it all myself. So maybe aim at First time tourers as a hand holding exercise.
  19. Well, we are flexible! Camping would be mobile homes, Alpine huts are basic but dead comfy. But let me ask you, what would you expect/hope for in terms of accomm? Since our prices are all inclusive and already pretty competitive compared to the rest of the market we'd have to up them for super comfy version... My wife and I travel Europe fairly extensively and I book my own hotels and plan my own routes. I draw my accommodation line at Ibis red or above. I organise trips as well but not as a business I just do it for friends. I am taking a group of six to France in April for 3 nights. There may be a market for budget tour trips, however, I think the type of people that are willing to pay for a tour might want a bit more comfort.
  20. I was following this thread with interest until you mentioned 2 star, camping and roughing it so in the words of dragons den, I'm out.
  21. Glad to be of assistance
  22. Instead of cutting the straps why not tuck them back up through the slits in the base and they will be hidden under the bag.
  23. A friend of mine has one and he assured me it was waterproof. I went for a ride with a couple of mates today as the weather was fine and sunny, however the weather forecasters got it wrong again and we found ourselves in a bit of rain. This wasn't stair rod type rain but it did get heavy for a few minutes and when I got home I had a feel around in the bag and everything was dry, so far so good. I would like to be out in more substantial rain before I give my seal of approval, but it's looking good so far.
  24. Read my thread here https://themotorbikeforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=62722
  25. Why not just get a waterproof phone?
