I second what Stu says there, Used them on all 3 of my old CBR600F's, my FZ6, and a handful of 125s. Never had a problem with quality.

That's not a bad escalation though! I thought "what could you do to be worse" and came up with fitting a land mine under the door mat. Just have to settle for hanging a turd down their chimney.

If the preventative work is designed to assist drainage rather than block it from coming in then there shouldn't be any issues! If the insurance has said the op isn't liable, then he's not. They would love to claim it off someone else as it's business for them, so I think it must really be clear cut.

I'd replace the lot, if you don't know when it was last done don't do bits and bobs, get the whole lot back to stock so you know more clearly the levels of wear on components.

It is for allocated parking, just park it up, declare it sorn, leave bike inside. You can buy flip out ramps as well for them I have heard a fair old amount of horror stories of vans being broken into, imagine a chavs face if he finds a motorbike. Expensive locks? No problem, I'll just hot wire and nick the cheap van and take the bike home. So disable the van otherwise can you imagine explaining to your insurance your bike was stolen because it was in the back of your van.

Good plan to save up for a house, but long term you'd have to be crazy! No council tax and if you fit a power/water inlet and use campsites you get water/power/a plot of land less than most places cost rent wise plus you can drive away if you find work elsewhere. But long term you'd be having a real bad time! 1. what will you do when it inevitably rusts or can't be on the road anymore? 2. A house/flat is better than a bank interest wise for your money in most cases. BUT as a short term means to save a deposit for a house, guy martin would say spot on that, spot on.

I'd also be looking at the possibility of pursuing different lines of work while you have stability where you are. I realised very quickly when I was living in the north that and chased a job in engineering. Took me onto similarly low pay at first but my pay began to jump with each promotion. Only reason I suggest is you could put 3-4 years of work into something, and then by the time you're done have a much better career and access a healthier mortgage. It's aim high or accept what you've got! But you're young anyway so you have time even if you feel impatient. I'm 3 years ahead and just getting my first house now so it's all very doable for you.

Why not just knuckle down and stay at home for a few years? Providing you can save quite a bit faster than interest rates rise it will be worthwhile in the long run. Also if you and a girlfriend go the distance and live together for a while before hand, you can speed up the rate of savings. I have spent nearly 7 years in London where I took advantage of the better wages and only just managed to secure a house. A 3 bedroom with a detached 1.5 sized garage in an area I know is safe. I could have gotten a one or two bedroom flat after a few years but carried on, while in the meantime always pushing to improve my wage. I would not be leaving an RR outside a set of flats, saying that as someone who has suffered 2 going walkies on me. You have a building full of unknown quantities and it just takes one bad egg to call a mate who will have your RR off you. If you can secure it in a bicycle parking area that will do so long as the area isn't too secluded where a thief would feel comfortable. You likely won't be allowed to put in a ground anchor without a heap of hassle as I've tried in the past and been told flatly no. Save up, or hire a garage nearby, I did that for a while at a mates rate of £50 a month.

Find the ECU (bikes brain) Unplug it and leave it a few minutes (lets any residual power die off), then clean the connections with some contact cleaner and allow to dry. Reconnect and see what happens. Also check the wiring local to it, breaks usually happen close by. Then also make sure your battery is screwed in properly. A slight break in power can disrupt it enough to think it has a problem.

From a structural point of view I'm asking how the heck that happens! There must be a moment of force causing a weakness to occur over time but they're supposed to engineer those out so that you have more even force distribution. I am guilty of hovering around the BMW website this morning as the F800 is a worthy competitor to the MT07 in terms of what I'll mainly be using it for. BMW sure know how to give their riders a "thrilling" experience. If they don't knock years off your life in stress, they go for a more direct approach it seems You could change bikes, I'm doing a major service on my FZ soon as I've worn out most of its consumables, then it will be on sale not long after that

I say it all in jest Mr Glorian It is funny that the two times we've met, the first your bike was chucking out smoke faster than a VW after an emissions test, and the second time the brake light stayed on the entire time and it had a small oil leak if I recall. ACF-50 has bikers written all over it... "Protect my bike? Better use something designed to keep corrosion off it while being propelled through the air at 500mph". Over protection at its finest, it's like having no balls but using a condom anyway. Just seen the above post - Holy f**k balls I heard of the axle snapping thing. Who gave the mice air tools!?

The rag tip is what I've always done with WD40 when cleaning parts of the bike. Never actually used ACF-50 but I know what it's made up of and it sounds good so I must give it a go. The said I've never really had a problem with corrosion. Glorians bandit I can understand, a slight summer breeze could corrode that bike. Rantmachines beemer I've become convinced has hyper intelligent mice of the hitch hikers guide to the galaxy variety eating through and dislodging components so unless it's poisonous I'm unsure on its effect!

It's not a worry really, it's VW that is in trouble but it's really too big to topple. Emission data is fudged all the time. Moos car is tax free because of its auto-engine stop feature. It uses a combined figure of what it does in the city and highway to gauge its emissions with the feature. And many times it has ended up doing medium-long length journeys where there was little or no stopping. So in reality, it is likely worse than my £20 a year VW UP which goes a bit further on the same amount of fuel. Same for the i8 by BMW... Yes it can deliver 49g/km when in its most economical setting at 300mpg. But the moment the battery runs out you are running a 1.5 litre turbo charged petrol engine that gets about 35mpg tops. This on long journeys means its emissions are higher on average. So emissions have been fibbed about for ages, VW could well argue if other companies were allowed to get away using the "best circumstance" figures of their cars, then where is the line drawn.

People de-link the brakes because they found it good for most circumstances, but nothing manual control couldn't cover. And on top of that people complained of feathering the brake mid-bend being troublesome with the linked brakes. I've ridden one an awful lot and it's completely contrary to my riding style to brake in the corner, and on the odd emergency mid bend, I never had a problem slowing and correcting the bike. So if it will boost your premium then you should just revert back... Unless someone has drilled the caliper, which I know is done during the modification if done a certain way.

Nah get the new 1.0 Ford Fiesta zetec, 125BHP with 65mpg. Remarkable little car and it's petrol. Petrol>Diesel

Unsurprisingly the paper lacked that detail, I suspect to cause outrage as I was looking for definitive lettering in it that would suggest it would only apply to those vehicles. Still ridiculous however. I felt it was a good move moving it to how it is as young people often buy little 1 litres in the tax free zone which helps them get on their feet. Your seat Ibiza is one I want, love the pokey engine in that. Won't be harmed by this as it's Diesels that are the problem. Always have been too! They go further on a tank but remain much more harmful than a petrol of the same size. Petrol engines are just cleaner. And on the small scale, bio gas burning generators with heat recovery for heating a building are far friendlier to the environment, cheaper than being connected to the national grid (mainly for hospitals and any other 24 hour power requirement building) and achieve 90% efficiency. You could knock C02 output in half with some clever investment but the country is run by accountants now who only look 4 years ahead and how it will benefit them.

Already happening Basically rich people are able to afford hybrids producing 50g/km of C02 and the government have decided a "fairer" system is required. In which working and middle class people who can't afford these swanky low emission hybrids anyway and are going tax free with cars like mine must now go from paying nothing to paying £130 or thereabouts for tax and now tax free will be 50g/km or less. Coming in during 2017 if I read the paper correctly. As usual, rich find a way not to pay tax so they bill the rest of us

Glad it was simple, it's always brilliant when it's the cheap thing That rad maybe Chinese but it would be very bad luck to get a naff one. Hopefully that's the last we hear of it being an issue.

Muc Off endurance chain lube/wax has been amazing for me. One fine layer leaves a bluish hue where it has been sprayed. Seems to last really well... Oh and it smells like that really nice calpol you had as a kid to make you lap it down and to me it's godly. But this is about chain lube and not potential solvent abuse
