  1. I went about 30 years ago! I can't remember much about it TBH I remember it was muddy!
  2. we didn't really plan the route! we did sit around and look at a map before we went but basically we just followed the signs we stopped about every hour/hour and a half, my blade needed filling up! on the bikes we stayed in formule1@s in orleans and perpignon so 3 days appx 500 miles a day to torrevieja from the midlands. Sue and I went in the car last year, I drove nearly all the way! only stopped 3 times for fuel! 18 hours calais to torrevieja! we came back up the west coast of france a bit longer but nicer.
  3. never heard of it! where's springfields?
  4. If it's 6V you need a 6V charger! you should NOT!!! use 12V car chargers even on a 12V bike! they put too many amps in too quickly! and will damage your battery! some modern chargers have a switch for car/bike, they are ok to use. The bike should start, with the kick start, even with a really flat battery! Has it got a clutch? if so you could always bump start it!
  5. when we went to Spain on the bikes we did 500 miles a day all motorways. We set out to do that! The only site seeing we did, at all, was the Milau viaduct!!! It was hard work but I enjoyed it in a strange sort of way Would I do it again? yes!!!! tomorrow if I could The bimbling about, site seeing etc doesn't really appeal to me! I just want to get where I'm going asp, then pool/bar/pool/bar And I would always want to go south for the sun!
  6. you can get stud extractors! they're similar looking to drill bits you screw them, left handed, into the hole, they cut into what's left of screw and pull it out. They have flats on the end so that they can be turned with a spanner. you can get various sizes, they tell you what size drill bit to use. be very, very careful that you don't use too big a drill and damage the caliper. not sure where to get them from try srewfix, or maybe RS
  7. put the piston back in and hold it in with the g clamp then bleed system enough to push other piston out. can you get mole grips or something on what's left of nipple?
  8. same thing for starter packs! only safe if it's got a bike setting. at a push I connect to my car battery BUT!!!! don't run car engine with it connected! I would go for the problem being stale fuel!
  9. hello and welcome to TMBF please say hello in the newbies section and put your location in your profile

    no idea!
  13. Just follow the pipes, you'll find the filters, they're not big. The RAC mechanic showed me, the first time it happened.

this thread is several months old!
  15. ok, i had this with a mondeo diesel! ( same engine) there are several, in-line, fuel filters. one or more of them is probably blocked so, if your fuel pump is weak, it will struggle to push the fuel through, especially when the diesel is cold as it goes thick and gloopy
  16. gutted for you BB!!!! F**K IT !!!!!
  17. if it's a diesel it hasn't got spark plugs! diesels don't like the cold! if you turn the key, wait for the heater plug light to go out then turn it off and back on and do it again it might start. if you,ve run out of fuel you might have an air lock in the fuel and it will need bleeding
  18. If you put your location in your profile you might get more interest!
  19. you need to strip the caliper! It's not hard, just a bit fiddly
  20. I'm at work on another Friday night when I should be in the pub! F**k it!
  21. congratulations!
